Coventry city FC and Ricoh Stadium owners kiss and make up. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...sure-Ricoh-Arena-return-starts-Sky-Blues.html
Mmmmmm how time moves on, it was Highfield Road for many years but hey ho Boothferry Park is no more.
anyone notice in the match facts that they had 2 Thomas, 2 Nouble and 2 Tudguys in their team?? I think the FA should investigate and perhaps ban them from the stadium for a year
Great to see them back and with a big crowd. Victory for the fans indeed. If it happened at City half the people on here would have warmed to playing in Grimsby by now. "He's spent a lot on players remember."
So in a thread which has nothing to do with Allam at all you bring him into it just so you can gob off. Pathetic, truly pathetic.
It's a great day for Coventry and sense has prevailed finally. Speaking of sense prevailing it always amazes me how close the 2 versions of Wimbledon actually are on the football ladder.
Its been said that Hull City pay little or no rent to HCC for using the stadium. Also Mr Allam didn't want the council and if i remember correct the quote was " celebrating in the reflected glory of Hull City. Now the council is almost bust and cutting back expenditure everywhere, meanwhile Hull City are succsessful and bringing in millions every year from the premier league. If the council were to ask Hull City to pay a realistic rent for the stadium ( which in a way was built with the tax payers money ) i can only see it ending badly and being locked out of the ground is not beyond the realms of possibility.
Perhaps you could post it on here, or a least give some details. I was only starting the debate, bearing in mind we have been there before remember.
The terms of the lease cannot be changed, the SMC effectively "own" the stadium until the end of the lease & unless there are dramatic increases to the profits made by the SMC the council will continue to receive virtually nothing. The SMC are as far as I know the only ones who can change the charges made to Hull City AFC to use the stadium & since the owners of Hull City AFC & leaseholder of the SMC are one & the same that is highly unlikely
Seems a shame the council couldn't make a bit of money from it. Looks like a bit of a cock-up in the contract to me.
I did try and tell you earlier. Anyway you are saying its a shame the council can't charge Hull City more? Wumming then I assume.
Get out out of bed on the wrong side this morning ? Like i said i put it out there for debate, OLM and NorthFerribyTiger responded with a constucted informative reply. You just reply like a Knob head.
I was short and to the point which I would call 'direct', the fact you didn't like that is your issue and not mine. I see you didn't reply to the point about why you want Hull City to pay more.
Why should the club not pay a fair rent for the stadium now they are succsessful. They have used the ground for 10 years for almost nothing. May even help to reduce council tax bills or improve public services.
I think the Club would argue that it's the SMC's responsibility, who would in turn argue that they're now paying for works that should have been paid for by the previous SMC board, or under warranty, had the relevant paperwork existed. There's also the question of the other tenants contribution. Either way, it's precious little to do with the Council.
