Bottas and Massa will jump Rosberg at the start. Rosberg is usually very slow off the line and he is on the dirty side of the grid. Hamilton has been having great starts and I doubt very much Rosberg will get him there. And as we have seen the Williams are lightning off the grid. I just hope Massa keeps his head and doesnt get too excited. If Rosberg gets behind the two Williams I think his race will be compromised... He would have to try jump them in the pits...as we have seen he isn't the best at overtaking even the midfielders so it will be difficult to overtake the Williams pair if they get in front.
Hamilton was consistently faster through sectors 2 and 3, the extra wing could make it difficult for Rosberg as Alonso found out in 2010 being stuck behind Button for the majority of the race.
I think Rosberg will have either Massa or Bottas or both between him and Hamilton. I think Williams car will beat Rosberg off the line. And if there are after effects from the gearbox problems he had earlier he could find himself 4th before the first corner. Lol. Maybe not. If he doesn't get Hamilton off the line then it's good night nurse unless the car44 gremlins come for Hamilton again. Lol hope not.
Do we have any word on what sort of strategies are expected? I know the tyres are on the harder end of the spectrum, so is it going to be one-stoppers all round as per usual in Monza or are the soft tyres not going to last that long? Curious because if the strategies are simple then that reduces the chances of Williams' mechanics ****ing it up.
First corner should be a cracker. The 2 mercs who are trying to outdo each other, and then throw in the 2 fast-starting Williams' as well. Someone's going to get hit, the question is who.
To be fair, I still maintain the incident in Germany was entirely Massa's fault for turning in unnecessarily aggressively on Magnussen. (I think the rules of racing disagree with me though)
Irony may strike and he'll be the only one in the top 6 to survive. I wouldn't say magnussen was entirely blameless, but, like Hamilton, once Massa has his nose in front he assumes the other guy will yield.
A small part of me wants the Mercedes to collide again, just really to see if Toto will carry through on his threat to replace the drivers.
1 minute in from the start and I've switched from Sky to BBC thanks to useless Croft. "And that's Hamilton out in front" Martin Brundle "No, it's Rosberg."
