Eesh, I find myself reading Leon's posts and nodding in agreement.

    This is ****ed up.

The question about will it be applied even handed? No of course not. If it suits certain people they will always use the "its got a tenuous link to City/Football" argument, which if it had suited, could easily have been applied here.

Ironically football is a religion and creates politics. But I hear you brother, I hear yea. Put simply, what that man said!

Strange that we can discuss fiction and fairy stories but not religion. Equates to the same thing.

I've lost count of the number of lives lost in arguments about whether Hansel and Gretel should be seen as a parable or accepted as historic fact.

Politics involves politics, you know, where people start ranting on about loony lefties and right wing tax dodgers and all the other **** that happens when a thread turns political.

Safe standing is obviously a football matter, it's not remotely political, unless you post 'I'm a UKIP supporter who wants safe standing'. Just apply a bit of common sense, if you start a thread about any political situation, such as Scottish independence, EU membership, immigration or any other obvious political issue, it will be closed.

It's really not complicated and it barely ever causes issue.

You have a problem understanding what constitutes politics?

In this instance, you seem to define politics with rather narrow parameters.

The thread in question had a clear football link. This was apparent by its thread title and content.

    The FSF say:

Safe Standing Campaign aims: To persuade the Government, football authorities and football clubs to accept the case for introducing, on a trial basis, limited sections of standing areas at selected grounds in the stadiums of Premier League and Championship football clubs.

    No, not political at all.

What about Hillsborough then, is that political? Can that be discussed?
