As we're talking computerisms.... I bought a brand new lap top from pc world only last week. It's a HP something or other, and they had a sale on so i saved a fair few bob. I also got Mcafee half price.

However....Within half an hour after set up, i started getting warnings. Frightened the **** out of me it did.

Anyway i rang PC World and eventually they put me on to their technical bloke. He told us to run 'malwarebytes'.

Malwarebytes told me i had 1400 odd viruses. All this within the first half hour of set up !

I rang the tech man back, and told him of the results. He was shocked, and said he'd never heard of so many viruses on an old pc,never mind a new one.

Anyway,i finally got to the bottom of this sorry mess. Turns out i'd down loaded a dodgy version of Chrome.

PC World swapped like for like, and i lived happily ever after.

    Just talking....

Just been reading another forum & they have been talking computers & viruses & mentioned the Download.com website, which used to be & may still be run by CNET

This used to be a very good site for freeware programs, but they have now added their own downloader to the site. That downloader includes Adware & Browser Hijack programs which can be difficult to remove, so I would advise that people avoid this or any other site requiring that you install their own downloader to give access to the main program downloads. In the majority of cases you can visit the manufacturers site & download the freeware safely
