I think only Rosberg managed to improve on his second run there. Hamilton will be disappointed he didn't improve but he needs to remember that Rosberg couldn't beat him even with a second run - supreme lap from Lewis.

Reckon lap one will look like this:

So Lewis and Nico will crash at the first corner, then Alonso and Vettel will clash as is tradition at Curva Grande ;)

No handshake or eye contact between the main rivals. This bodes well when they are a couple of cm away at 220mph.

Rosberg better get his start right..he has been very slow off the grid..if he doesn't get a quick start the two Williams will eat him up off the line as Massa and Bottas in the Williams are usually lightning off the grid. It should be fun down the straight. Any bets?

Sickening thought that Ferrari could have been tampering with Raikkonens car so he doesn't qualify above the almighty Alonso. As Raikkonen did find his form last race.

"We changed the car a little bit, but it's hard to believe that those small changes made it as difficult as it was," said Raikkonen.
"We had a good weekend on this side and we had no issues. Things were running smoothly, as they should always, and then we had difficulties to get grip in qualifying.
"For some reason I kept locking the fronts a bit and couldn't find how I could make one sector good but not all of them in a row. It just got difficult for some reason.
"It was a bit of a surprise for me, an unpleasant surprise.
"We have to try to look into the details a bit and hopefully find an explanation."

    Surely not eh??

No, they didn't. Why would they?
He uses the same excuses every week when he doesn't do well, it's getting boring now. He's making the mistakes, not the team

It was a driver error that cost him top 10. I doubt Ferrari would care which one of their cars comes where at this point. Just something at their home race. If Kimi wants a decent car him and Alonso have got to put some work in from now and over the winter if not they will be in the same position

Wonder why such a loss for Hamilton in S1?

Well, I look forward to some midfield battles but it's not what I wanted to see, needed Hamilton back a bit in 4th or 5th, to make a race of it. lt'll be a Vettelesque victory for Hamilton, get twenty thirty second lead an ease up, I can't see Rosberg doing anything other than pootle about in 2nd unless he can get a wing in front at turn 1, that'll be the only interesting point in the race for the lead, unless Hamilton pushes to hard to prove a point and breaks his car.

Is it possible he has a little bit more wing? Remember how well Buttons high downforce set up in 2010 did? or he simply made a mistake. The faster you go, the closer to the edge you are.

Hamilton's definitely running more wing, he's been a tenth or two down on the pace in sector 1 all weekend but in exchange he's been up three or four tenths in the last sector.

Given that it will also give him a little more grip on the run down to turn 1 I'd say Rosberg's only chance is if Hamilton makes a mistake. Depending on how quick the Williams are we could be in for a good race.

    And again

p3, Last place of everybody that ran, seven tenths slower than Max Chilton (the next slowest car), a full second slower than Kobayashi.

q1, last place, eighth tenths slower than Kobayashi.

He's actually bordering on dangerously slow.

I've been very vocal on Gutierrez, who even at his best is average and doesn't really deserve a seat in F1, but at least he is capable of the odd ok race and is vaguely on the pace of those around him, something Marcus can't even really claim most the time.

The sad truth is, without Marc n Max there would only be 9 teams on the grid.
