Ah good to hear from you.

I couldn't believe it that just before you got on, they moved somebody but didn't do anything for you despite some people being sat on their own. One rule for one and all that.

The whole thing was a **** up and only looked after the people they knew.

That's really poor, you should drop a line to the ticket office, to try and avoid these things happening in the future.

Kids don't get reduced rate on tiger travel i'm afraid.Think the £40 is incorrect as it is only £30 to arsenal/chelsea etc.

If you want my support from the ticket office, you can copy and paste what I've written or I'll write something more. I will be glad to help because it's ridiculous those people ticking us on have so much power for their "friends".

Just to answer the question, the club have some regular volunteers who they ask to marshall the coaches. I think they get the travel free but no match ticket of course.

Do they get much instruction? I'm loath to knock them, but the odd occasions I've used them, they did seem more functional than pleasurable and part of that was the feeling they were doing you a favour letting you on their bus.

So people who want to get involved with the club in a major or minor way do it for their own benefit and not out of a sense of altruism?? Human nature unfortunately

Have you posted this in the wrong thread?

EDIT. My apologies, I read it wrong initially. Still begs the question on instruction/training.

Coach 7 was 15 mins late setting off thanks to some nob called Jackson turning up late

Group of city fans shouting abuse at Villa fans from behind safety of coach compound fence

Banter is ok. But the **** who spat at Villa fan then nearly got nicked ( should have done ) is a ****ing ****er .

He wouldn't have said boo if it wasn't for the fence

The longest double decker trip was Millwall, the most popular was Grimsby when we took four double deckers. To give you an idea of how long ago it was the fullest double decker was in one of those pre season cup competitions away at Chesterfield, the cost was 1.75 the hire was 65 quid and i had over 120 on it.Lost most of the profit on the Millwall away which was just over half full at 4 quid a pop. That coupled with the fact that i gave the driver a twenty quid tip for the Chesterfield bus which with the whip round came to a weeks wage for him,he kept mum when the police got involved at the services due to a largescale food fight.

I posted in another thread a day or two ago about the double decker in Carlisle which wouldn't start after the match and we had to wait till another one came from hull. Those were the days.

Didn't you pay for a black cab to lead the bus to the ground at Millwall, and he dropped it outside the home stand?

That would have been big Bruce the driver, he was spot on, i worked with him a few years later and we spent a while reminiscing about the DD days, it will never happen again it was like the wild west in those motorway service stations, we pulled into one that was full of maybe 30 Sunderland coaches and they didn't come near us, after we piled off the bus.

I also recall Blackpool doing a DD because we passed it on the way to Tranmere, such was the abuse hurled our bus felt like it was going to tip over, 5 gallon drum of piss included.

Happy CCTV free days, when more often than not a copper would belt you rather than arrest you.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did get match tickets too.
