How crap is Marcus Ericsson though? seriously 2 weeks running he has been comprehensively outpaced be somebody who hasn't driven an f1 car this decade (Spa, he was a full second slower than the le mans driver in quali), now a Spanish rookie has done him by near a quarter of a second. And to make matters worse, Kamui comes back in, having been binned for the last race and missing out on p1, and does him again!
Unexplainable mate. I am gobsmacked at his ****ness. Atleast Pastor has won a race and Gutierrez is improving. Marcus is all money.
Mercedes should easily take pole, but it might not be so easy in the race. Bottas was the fastest in the race simulations and only Hamilton who did a very short stint could match him. Rosberg was surprisingly slow - his pace was equal to Vettel, Ricciardo, Raikkonen, Alonso and Massa (Massa on prime, the rest on option).
Wow, Kvyat has gone onto his sixth engine! Doesn't exactly bode well for next year. Also we just had the rare sight of a Mercedes being given blue flags to allow a Caterham to go past EDIT: And Kobayashi goes fastest
Grosjean yesterday: "They have the Ferrari engine which has made some good progress" Ferrari should make more progress, because they have changed their gear ratios this morning.
That Mercedes top speed Interesting that Hamilton is still slower in sector 1 than most of the cars around him (not that he'll care much I should imagine) Q1 is pretty much nailed on to knock out Lotus, Marussia and Caterham, but Q2 and Q3 should be very close.
Wonder if Ferrari will risk over running the engines this weekend? Home pride but could damage their WCC position in the long run.
Lotus have basically been BMW Sauber all over again. Reckon at least one of the Red Bulls will not make it through to Q3.
Predicting Rosberg on pole, I fear Hamilton keeps putting himself under too much pressure. Very poor from Raikkonen.
