    Evening,

I see your U20 goalkeeper has been picked for the U20 world cup. Can any of you give a view or rating of him as i know very little about him? Must be good news for you guys though as having a promising keeper at that age could potentially prove to be great.

Good luck to all the players and here's hoping the team have a good tournament <ok>

England U20 World Cup squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Jak Alnwick (Newcastle United), Jack Butland (Birmingham City), Lee Nicholls (Wigan Athletic).

Defenders: Nathan Baker (Aston Villa), Ben Gordon (Chelsea), Jack Robinson (Liverpool), Adam Smith (Tottenham Hotspur), Reece Wabara (Manchester City), Andre Wisdom (Liverpool), Scott Wootton (Manchester United).

Midfielders: Reece Brown (Manchester United), Gary Gardner (Aston Villa), Jason Lowe (Blackburn Rovers), Dean Parrett (Tottenham Hotspur), George Thorne (West Bromwich Albion).

Forwards: Benik Afobe (Arsenal), Nicholas Ajose (Manchester United), Callum McManaman (Wigan Athletic), Alex Nimely (Manchester City), Ryan Noble (Sunderland), Matthew Phillips (Blackpool).

Hot prospect, we always seem to have decent goal keepers. Don't know a lot about him but know he is rated highly.

    Must be worth £8m.

Great to see him in there. He's supposed to be quite good, brother of Ben Alnwick who's at Tottenham.

We havent seen him at senior level yet but heard he's a very good prospect, he's only 17 or 18 though as far as I knew, so to be at U20 level is quite something.

He'll have his work cut out playing for us though, 4th choice right now and two of the keepers ahead of him are 23.

EDIT: I forgot about Soderberg, he's 5th choice then. Wow we produce some canny keepers.

A few decent players in that squad but don't know how good how good they are compared to youngsters from other nations.

Just checked and he recently turned 18. He's also younger brother of Ben Alnwick, who I think Spurs released.

I've exhausted my Jak Alnwick knowledge.

Well, based on Sunderland paying £8m for a 'prospect', that's how I came up with that figure <ok>

    Thanks for the replies.
Hope he has a good tournament. It's hard to say how the tournament will turn out as many of these players are relatively unknown. I guess it will just gauge where we're at with the U20 level and whether these players actually have the potential to make it.

Hope it gets televised appropriately <ok>

Alnwick is capped at u-18 level so this must be his first time with the u-20's

Seen him play a few times and has stood out every time. Seems a good shot stopper and he has the potential to be Englands (first team) number 1 in he future from what I've seen. He has also saved two out of the three penalty's I have seen taken against him. I', delighted he has made the squad and he fully deserves it. He will be first choice a Newcastle in the future as well.

Is he actually any good? The three times I have seen him play he hasn't. The first time he stared well and then picked up a yellow for a very poor challenge. In the second half he then got sent off for stamping on someone. In another game he came on as a sub and made a fantastic impact to the game but he missed a sitter. Then he came on at Stevenage which I'm not going to judge him on because that whole game was a sick joke.

Last season Alnwick was on the pitch for the training before the game, so he's clearly pretty decent if they're getting him adjusted to playing when he was only 17. Seemed like a decent keeper from the little I saw of him

Just wondering what the reason was for six people to give neg rep for this article?

Find it a bit strange considering i was asking a serious and positive question.
