http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...ims-big-club/story-22877686-detail/story.html Gotta be honest, the last time England looked powerful was when the selected players from all across the top league, this big club phenomenon has been a downhill slide for them. Selecting players by their employer instead of talent in the position and form was never going to work.
Woy doesn't strike me as the type to listen to sensible constructive criticism... sad for our potential England call ups but good for the Swans as a club tbh imo.
It could also be a bad thing if we're trying to sign an English player with ambitions of playing for England.
Well said Waddle! Ask yourself this: If Dyer had played for, say, Everton this past season would he have been picked? Answers on a postcard....
Not really players who leave us are generally not the same player for anyone else, I'ts the system we play that makes certain players stand out. Look at dyer for laudrup he was pants and was dropped. look at ki the same thing. England play a different system again and that's why roy's representatives at our matches are more than likely are telling Roy that. Dyer just wont suit England play as his crosses are not good enough. Just because the english players we have look good for us does not mean they are the right players for England...It's not as cut and dry as that.
Dragon If dyer had been doing for us at a Spurs or an everton there is no doubt in my mind he would have been capped. **** mine Andros townsend cant even get a game at Spurs and was in the squad.
I dunno Dai, England's current style just isn't good against minnow teams let alone the big guns. Perhaps four of our players, a few from Southampton along with Shawcross and Noble would produce a different England style. Need Hodgson out first though, he still believes 4-4-2 is the only way forward
I agree totally. England need a modern manager who plays from the back with some neat short or long accurate passing while going forward. Martinez or Rodgers would do well for England imo and not old hat managers set in their ways of football as it use to be played. football has moved on from those days where everyone played roughly the same system..
