red shorts - yes please - the best time in our history. I like this man as much as I was nervous about the appointment of Beppe - he appears to have real quality in depth - my bet is that he is the closest thing we will have seen to Brendan since then. Remember when Brendan started we had a lot of playing sideways and backwards to keep possession - I suspect we will see the same again. I am genuinely excited.
So far so good, P1 W1 D0 L0..... looks like a quality manager to work with a quality squad..... no excuses are there and that brings it's own pressures.
more in the WO this morning.. At least he talks well.. which sadly BS did not do... or at least failed to get across. One anomoly...the WO understand he was in talks prior to BS going whilst he says not..... or maybe he is just being polite

New Watford boss Oscar Garcia said he turned down offers from "big clubs" across Europe to take over at Vicarage Road. The 41-year-old former Brighton manager had reportedly been a target for the Leeds job. "I had several offers. I was really happy to have these offers," he told BBC Three Counties Radio. "Watford has amazing fans and the way the club wants to go made the difference for me to come here." According to the WO he got the job over Owen Coyle and Chris Houghton. Not exactly the most inspiring of lists although both have got teams promoted from the Championship. Coyle had his reputation damaged at Bolton and Wigan whilst Hughton was criticised at Norwich for a negative style of football.
Glad we didn't get either of those two. They are just journeymen managers who get a bit of success every now and again, but not consistently.
i'm really liking the sound of this! He seems a massively positive step...great excitement for the season has replaced massive apprehension!
Di Matteo was considered, but was not in the final three. I think given the quality of the squad and the comparative success of our owners (okay, the trophy cabinets aren't bursting but...) and the all round feel good factor in these here parts I reckon it would be embarrassing for many to have it known that they didn't get the Watford job. The way we've seen the Pozzo's work suggests two things: 1. They only do their laundry in public when it suits them. 2. They are so ahead of the game we couldn't possibly think they haven't, even now, got a back up plan in place. Here we all are mopping our brows after the transfer window (TD9 is still here and all that, hmmm? ...) but I can't help but think that the January window will be far more exciting for us Hornets. The wheels could yet come off of course, somehow I doubt it.
