Altidore took to Twitter after the game and said: âSuch an honour to captain this team tonight! Well done to all the boys tonight and thanks to the US fans who made us feel at home.â http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...nderland-striker-jozy-altidore-leads-7720684? I've never known such a 'useless player' have so much goodwill from so many Sunderland supporters.
It`s incredible isn`t it? I wonder if it`s because we know it`s because he`s giving his best. None of us will ask for more than that. I reckon it`s those who we know can do better but don`t try that gets our backs up.
nail on the head pops, as a player he is mint, a trojan, starts finding the net and he becomes more that that, i love his play me, as a defender i would hate to face up to that ****er me like
no doubt, south stand do my head in with his chants mind (where i am), need a new one as i think they are patronising need to come up with something captain america isk
I know mate, that`s where you played and there`s plenty of PL defenders he`ll run straight through. A couple of goals & he`ll put the ****s up a lot of them.
I love that Jozy makes our 433 more like a 433 rather than a 451, He didn't score but Borini, AJ and Giacc scored quite frequently around him. The way Jozy drops deep allows his two inside forwards to push up. Fletch doesn't come short and get involved in build up, as a result his inside forwards rarely get to make runs ahead of them. Fletch would be my third choice striker right now. When he plays we look like a 451 with the 1 isolated, if it wasn't for our attacking wing backs, Aanholt in particular we'd be seriously lacking any attacking threat. Wickham has to start up top against spurs with Jozy waiting in the wings.
Altidore instantly changes the impetus of our attack whenever he appears ...... won the match at Chelsea last season which was vital.
Agreed He doesn't even need them for me pops, just so long as he continues to allow other attacking players to advance. He starts so many attacking moves just by dropping deep, taking players with him then just laying it off. Found a great example, One we scored from. please log in to view this image The way he's created space by taking Sidwell and Heitinga with him is exceptional, Ki lost his man and found the space and the break is on. A fantastic move that stretched Fulham till they snapped. AJ was the most advance player and punished them. Great move, great assist and a great finish. Great goal.
If only Poyet would play Wickham in his natural striker role, and Jozy in his natural role to the left of him. we'd be sorted. But he wouldn't do it for Borini/Altidore in seven months of asking so I can't see it happening for Wickham/Altidore either, can you?
The thing is Bri I don`t care whether Jozy scores goals or helps to create them. I still think he has a big part to play. Up to Gus to see that he plays it.
Comm, you shouldn't pretend you don't have a massive man crush. Jozy will play a big part in some great results this year. Love the man.
