Was reading through our squad list printed by the Mirror: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/newcastles-25-man-premier-league-squad-4161771? and I noticed Jamaal Lascelles listed as an U21 available in the PL. I thought there wasn't a recall in either his or Darlows loan deal? Also, interesting to see we've used a senior place on Jonas.
Not sure about Lascelles but with Jonas I assume that is a place for a "dire emergency" scenario and as we do not have 25 senior places he took it!
I suppose you're probably right, re: Jonas. Let's hope it doesn't come down to it! Isn't he in Argentina?!
Weird... Maybe Forest have an option to cancel the loan should they wish, and therefore Lascelles could come to us? I dunno!
Get him in, he can't do any worse Forest are top of the tree with 4 clean sheets in 7 games in all competitions. They've only conceded 3 in the league and scored 11. Who is their manager, get him in! Oh its Pearce isn't it. Not everyones cup of tea. The way Krul has been playing, does Darlow have the option to join early too please
If we had not loaned out Ben Arfa and Yanga-Mbiwa I wondered how the list would have looked. I suspect Mbiwa would have got in (at the expense of either Vuckic or Jonas) but would they have left Ben Arfa out? Would have fuelled some anger from certain fans if they had.
It also reminds you we have Santon to come back. He'll be like 5 new signings (he can play RB, LB, RW, LW, CM) Its been a great window afterall..............
