Oh yeah, that was the last thing I wanted to mention. Morgan's reaction to his two goals.

1] No, I am not pleased. I'm not going to smile. I don't care whether you are gripping my face and grinning at me Steven Davis, I am definitely not enjoying this goal, so there. :(

2] Oh, all right. I can't help it. I did enjoy that one. I love scoring for this team. Yes, I'll smile for you lads, but just don't take me being here for granted, ok..? :)

I think Pelle did a Morgan when he scored, ie not smiling, but he couldn't keep his face straight. :)

Pelle needed a little push from Dusan for it to happen !

I watched that and at one point around the 86th minute, I counted 40 consecutive Southampton passes, they weren't just passing it along the back line either, it was proper spreading the play stuff.

Yes it started to remind me of that never to be mentioned Leeds game in the 70's when we got beaten by 7.

The free kick I mentioned above was at 77 min.

I thought it was training ground stuff. Now I'm not so sure: I think it was just two people on the same wavelength. I hope so. It isn't repeated on that stream but it shoudl have been. I was about twenty yards away from where Pelle hit it and it was a real fizzer. genuinely, the kind of shot you flinch from rather than trying to get in its way.

I love that site: every game ends up on there.

I can't believe our overall possession was only 64% after watching the game again, we seemed to have the ball practically all the time in the second half apart from a few isolated counter attacks from the Spammers.

Long had a good shot well saved in the first half, and then there was Pellè's shot from the free kick discussed above. It really could have been a rout.

Still according to Garth Crooks, whilst selecting Morgan for BBC team of week, we rode our luck. Somebody must have told him MS played well.

Me too, but if we never bring that match up again it'll be too soon.

Incidentally, in the same season, Leeds beat a very good ManU [Charlton, Best, Kidd] side 5-1 [I believe] and did the same to them with the knocking the ball around. When I found out about that around 3-4 weeks ago it kind of made the old sore feel a little easier. There is a Youtube of it somewhere apparently.

He scored two goals, must have played well. Everything else is irrelevant when it comes to teams of the week

Some suggesting that Morgan's 2nd goal was actually an OG, but naturally the defender isn't arguing. Any thoughts?

Do yoy know if you need any extra software to watch the video? Tried to watch it in my smart TV (not too smart as it turns out) and the video would not play, though works on my lappy

If you get Flash Video Downloader, which is an extension for Firefox, then you'll be able to download the MP4 file (on my PC it took about four minutes). Pop that on a memory stick and it should play fine on a recent TV.

I think a week later we lost 8-1 to Everton. The next season in the same fixture we beat them 0-1 at Goodison.

Ok a bit of research shows we lost 8-0 at Everton in Nov 1971 then In March 72 it was 7-0 to Leeds.

Forest & Huddersfield got relegated and we did in fact beat Everton 0-1 at Goodison the following season.

    Yay, go us!

Thanks. I stand corrected. Did we go down the following season then?
