It wasn't our normal team, it was the younger guys and a bunch of young new guys. We will have a far better team with all these young German kids in four years.
And one of them was the penalty! Got a message of a mate of mine. He got a free ticket and said he felt he'd been ripped off!
Roy Hodgson is one of the highest paid managers in world football yet one of the most inept at his job. He is a wolly, an embarrassment and a total charisma vacuum. He continues match after match to fail drastically at his job. - He knows nothing of the modern game and the technical aspects now involved. - Picks the wrong player for the team and the squad. - Clearly unable to motivate the players. - Makes us look like idiots as a nation to nations around the world. - Makes excuses for himself. Says the state of English football and limited selection options are to blame. Regardless of far less football developed countries doing far better than us and playing far more attractive football as well as countries like Switzerland with a small population being far more ahead of us. - Deluded and dishonest about everything. - Failed to do the honourable thing and resign after his mammoth failings, like many other respectable mangers did. - When we win it is a scarped win with goals usually scored from a corner or a penalty. It's droll, uninspiring and manages to buy himself more. Roberto Martinez, Michael Laudrup, Pep Guardiola, Glenn Hoddle, Rafa Benitez, Brenda Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp would all be much better candidates and attainable if the decision was financial. I'd even prefer Steve Bruce. Heck. Even Karl Robinson would be an upgrade.
Just got back from the match, Rooney was the worst player on the pitch. His runs wouldve been fine if it was 1985 and Dave Bassett was England manager. Wellbeck was ****loads better. Fact.
I listened to the game on radio and they kept saying Rooney looked nervous, probably due to the pressure of being captain. If he can't handle the pressure, he shouldn't be bloody captain! And the post match interview with Woy, he blamed the low attendance on the opposition. Completely oblivious to the fact that England are dreadful to watch! Just wondering, do club wembley members get counted whether they attend or not, how many free tickets were given away and how many attendees were corporate sponsors? What was the actual attendance?
Hodgson and the FA are a joke. You only get in the squad if your in a favored club (why was roy at liverpool v spurs at weekend? He knows all players on show ans could of sky plused the game, should have been at villa park). He then plays 4_4-2, no one reallly plays that way most are now 4-2-3-1, 4-3-1-2, 4-3-3. We dont have traditional wingers anymore as clubs domt use them and they are limited. There are concerns over selection options, then improve coaching at graasroor level - invest in youth and look at implementing somescheme to promote young players. Will give roy and fa a clue: Hart Stones, cahill, shawcross, baines Henderson (rm), milner (dm), wiltshere (lm) Sterling - free role Rooney, sturridge A system that all the players know and understand with opptions dor in match changes
Stones did okay at right back, but he's really a centre back, Clyne should be playing there and Milner should be nowhere near an England squad.
Harry Redknapp on the England squad following a 1-0 win over Norway - "Half the players don’t give a toss."
Did anyone see Woy's dummy spit when a member of the press dared to mention that we only had 2 shots on target?
Richard Burgess ‏@rburgessbbc England v Norway TV audience peaked at 5.5m (average 4.5m), Great British Bake Off peaked at 8.7m (average 8.3m).
The English football fan is speaking and acting loud and clear. The FA are just to deaf and blind to hear or see it.
Rob Harris ‏@RobHarris Should the FA have the players & Hodgson baking something on the pitch at Wembley to get the crowd in for the San Marino game next month?
Hodgson reckons crowds for the qualifiers will be low because we don't have attractive opposition. Perhaps its more like we don't play attractive football and as usual we will struggle through to qualification and celebrate as if we had won a major tournament. The usual tedious cycle
