'Rooney need's to improve and he will do I'm sure'. Well I'm glad you think that Andy you have put my mind at rest there. I mean it's not like you to talk bollocks is it.
Jozy Altidore ‏@JozyAltidore 2m Such an honor to captain this team tonight! Well done to all the boys and thanks to the US fans who made us feel at home!! #USMNT ellewoods, I thought the USA team was improving! How could it be improving with him as captain?
Yep - when Murray plays against players I like, such as Federer, Tsonga, Hewitt, I can't bring myself to support him. When they're playing for their country, yes - ie in the Olympics or Davis Cup in Murray's case. And in those instances I will cheer for him over players I like more. BUT in all the normal ATP events/grand slams he is playing for Andy Murray and Andy Murray alone. Same goes for golfers - the Ryder Cup is a great exception, but in normal tournaments they're not representing their country at all.
It depends. If he's playing as 'Andy Murray' he only represents Andy Murray. If he's playing Davis Cup or whatever for the 'GB' team then he's representing Britain. If it's Wayne Rooney playing for 'England' he's representing England. But if he plays for 'Man U' he's not representing England is he?
I'm not one of them and I can't understand why they would to be fair. Still, each to their own. It's the equivalent of people from Hull supporting Liverpool and Manchester I guess.
Roy is happy beating a poor Norway 1-0 at home in a very poor game front of just 40k fans. If I didn't know better I would think he was taking the piss.
The problem with the English national team goes way way deeper than Roy Hodgson. Remember our last few managers, Capello, Erikksen , McLaren I suppose you think they're all rubbish too?? The problem with English football is we do not produce enough quality players. We do not even have one decent proper defensive midfielder. Most top nations play with 2. We have no central defenders good enough to keep a clean sheet against decent opposition. How seriously do our PL clubs take producing young players? As much as Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich etc? doubt it very much. They like the easy money from TV rights and spunking it on crazy wages. You won't hear it said it in the media enough cos they're all riding on the murdoch gravy train too
Hodgeson isn't helping though. He should be saying 'Sorry guys but if you are not constatly playing and/or starting in a top tier league I can't pick you'. He is in fact doing the opposite.
Well that was uninspiring, Rooney was ****e apart from the penalty. Hart, Sterling and Sturridge did OK, apart from that the rest were at best average.
Don't think I mentioned representing themselves but I was just talking about representing country. So when Man Utd etc are in the Champs league you all want them to win cos they are an a English team by that logic.
