I think you're all over-reacting. The guy had a chance of moving to play first team premiership football, I too would have let my contract run out when not playing for my favourite club. You know how some fans can be, people are too fickle. It would whind me up a treat the way some of our fans take the mickey, especially if you thought you had genuinely given 100% effort for the club.

He's one of the best forwards we've ever had. Yes his contract has run out but stop slating him. If you had the chance to get payed more and play prem football, you'd take it. There is still the chance he may sign a new deal, but I doubt it the way our fans are slagging him off.

The Celtic fans on there seem convinced that he's going to be joining them - one of them claimed he was 1/8 (not sure if he meant 8/1) so maybe it isn't the lure of Premiership football. Still, he'd look like John Charles in that Mickey Mouse league.

As for not playing at his favourite club - well, he's an Arsenal fan I think so no chance of him ever playing there. He did claim that he'd 'found home' at Cardiff in 2009 though so it's no excuse really.

Are we going to hate every player that goes through the door and why is the SPL referred to as the Mickey Mouse league when the likelihood is we will look to the SPL for players?

We're more likely to be looking at the very best players in the SPL to improve our squad in the second tier. Dundee came 4th in that league, yet their star players are willing to entertain coming to the Championship. It's Mickey Mouse because the majority of the teams and players are dire. It's an easy option for somebody like Ledley would would warm the bench for a top team, or fight relegation in the first team of a 'poor' Premiership team. You get to win trophys and all that, but it's clearly not as challenging or fulfilling.

Shame how its all turned out with Bothroyd, agree he was probably the most gifted footballer we've had down the City. Sure he was lazy at times and used to chuck his toys out the pram once the refs cottoned on to his theatrics, but I dont beleive that he never gave 100% for us. People seem to forget also that after his England cap he had a couple of injuries. I'm far more angry with Chops and some of the loan players than with Bothroyd, but at the end of the day its time to move on.

I suppose the only silver lining with Chopra was that we got a fee for him. I think he only had a year left on his contract and that seems to be how we lose our players at the moment.

think its the way of the world with clubs in our position, look at the jacks, they've made the step up and are still losing players. The only solution is to sign players for 5 years, but then your taking big risks

I too don't think he deserves to be criticised too much. A very good player on his day. Perhaps if he had Blackpool playoff game...........
He seems to have lost motivation for Cardiff and has left at the end of a contract. I know that sucks but really he hasn't done much wrong.

In saying that, I would not want him back now. I look at his overall persona as part of the problem and not the solution.

Jay was a good player for Cardiff, although he used to go missing a bit to often to be considered great IMO, one of the few faults in his game (apart from going down a bit TOO easily). Unfortunately after his England call up, he thought he had to just sit back and one of the "big boys" would be beating a path to his door.......never happened, and Jay who's heart was in London with his new girlfriend, and his head was in the premier league failed to perform...........worse he seemed to stop trying, you can forgive a player for loss of form, but not for lack of effort..............Jay did well in the past, but as he'd lost interest in the club , why should we be interested in him? If he thinks he can make a move to a premiership or SPL club to improve his career.............well best of luck to him. But don't hold your breath Jay, IMO he took the piss out of his teamates, the club and the fans during his last couple of months, so he is not immune from critisism if he sets himself up on a public forum to be shot at.
