I suspect that IF Blackburn are nowhere near the top six come january then a call to uncle Steve will be made and a letter written. Whilst it is still very early i see Blackburn only as maybe 5th or 6th place in the final championship table. That is if they keep Rhodes for the full season mind.
Blackburn are morons. I happy to bet they won't ever get £15million for him. He needs to have a 20+ goal season. We're one of very few clubs who want him for anywhere around £10million. Prem teams that might want him wouldn't want to pay that much or can't afford it. I suspect he'll score around 15, Blackburn will finish 8th and he'll be off to a prem relegated team or somewhere like Cardiff.
Another? He only scored 25 last season, 29 the season before & 36 the season before that. 131 League games 90 goals, three seasons. 53 in 93 games for Blackburn.
So the numbers are decreasing slowly... which is my point. PLus he takes penalties (scored 5 last season) . He's got 1 in 4 this season. My point is he would need to repeat that for another chance like the one we gave him. And I'm talking about the club more than him. I'd be surprised if they did eventually get their £15 million for him. So to deny that much money to keep your best player, you better finish in playoffs. If they don't they'll wanna cash in and I don't think their bargaining chip will be as strong.
Is Rhodes ambitious? I dont think he is. He's obviously on a great wage in the championship and is comfortable with that. At 24 he should be in the premier league if he wants to challenge himself.
