We have not been convincing in all the games I have seen this season. Apart from Beskitas, we have not really come up against any team of real quality. The fans are no mugs, a blind man can see where the deficiencies in our team are..... Will they be addressed in this transfer window? We have to wait and see. The key thing ultimately is how AW is appraised by his bosses. Do they expect him to win the league or top 4 finish? Statistics from last season will show we led the league for a long time, but faded away badly and was in danger of finishing outside of the top 4. My expectations this season are we finish top 4, preferably top 3, not be humiliated by our rivals (as we were last season) win a cup, and do well in the Champions League. This I think would be a massive improvement on last season.
I completely agree, it will represent a very good season. Just hope our fans can relax a little and enjoy themselves a bit more. All this talk of winning the league is getting a little crazy. Look at Liverpool last season, all they wanted at the start of the season was to finish in top 4, they came within a whisker of winning the league. I wish our fans could just relax (myself included!), blood our exciting young talents with the established players and hopefully give a good account of ourselves!
Liverpool has started the season really well - people say they had a bad game against city but first 30min were impressive. And now as well. They have a very fluid attack.
thanks for stating the obvious . a bad defence will lose any team games not just Liverpool but . well done for that . genius. "yeah i cant understand why we lost , our defence is the best in the league ! "
Ok? I was just pointing out Liverpool have a bad defense. Have you decided to just start trying to insult me now in every thread?
hahahah , spuds are sunk ! oh , sorry Murray , we are not supposed to be nasty to other fans are we ? slap slap
so 93 minutes and a clean sheet . and you have convinced yourself that they have a bad defence. wow ...just wow. Not as good as Chelseas ill give you that
Good result for Liverpool...Another way you also have to look at this is that Liverpool already have 2 tough away fixtures out of the way only 3 games into the new season, and have come out of them not too bad, 3 out of 6 isn't so bad at Spurs and the Etihad.
I think it will depend on the opposition to who we play rather than having a set pecking order for all games.
Playing at the week-end after a game in Europe is always tough, and an away game in Europe doubly so, so I wouldn't read too much into the Everton game or the one today. We need to realize this is a marathon not a sprint. The title will not be won until well after Christmas, although it can be lost before then. As long as we are thereabouts in March, we can start talking about who is going to win. Before that predictions are just a bit of fun and can't be taken too seriously.
A rare ticket has just become available for the AFC v Spuds match on the Arsenal site.....£95.50. Wife's birthday present or the match? It's a tough choice :/
