I'm sure we all know that Kevin Maher is yet to respond about the contract offered to him. I know he has a family on the way and he is trying to do the best thing for them. However we have been it this situation before with him training with us only to stab us in the back and sign for Oldham. I for one do not want this to happen again. Think hessy should lay it on the line for him. Take it or leave. Simple. He has had almost two months to think about it. If you want to stay sign the deal. If after two months your still not sure you want to stay, don't. Not really bothered what he does if I'm honest just don't want him to abuse the club's trust in him again.<grr>

In my mind he is not a Gills player now, he is keeping his options open but you know he is going to go, But if he was to be really unlucky then he would probably come back and stay.

Contract offer should be removed. Either you want to play for the club or you don't. I don't want someone at the club just because there was no other option. I want players at the club because they want to be at the club. Maher thanks but no thanks time for the Gills to move on. All the best for the future.

Didn't Hessy give him a time limit to sign his contract or, he is out the door? Or have I got it wrong?

Hope kevin knows that every day that goes my fans are liking him less and less and he is making a worse and worse impression on Hessy

If he suddenly accepts the deal, he is going to have to play well every game because as soon as he doesn't the fans will be on his back like never before. And he's been slated quite badly in the past.

To be honest, I don't know why Hess is waiting around for someone who has been rubbish for the 2 and half years he has been here. We gave him a chance when no one else would take him and he threw it back in the clubs' face when he left for Oldham and the 2 months roughly it has taken for him to "make a decision" suggests that he will do it again. Maher doesn't offer us anything and I would rather have a full season out of Jack Payne.

Personally REALLY want him to leave. Make way for Payne to make that position his own. Partner him up with a more attacking minded cm, Spiller or Weston, and add a winger. I say just the one winger as I want to see more of Rooney this year, and Spills did fine when he played wide right, unlike Weston on the left who had his best games in the middle going forward.

Jack Payne has potential to be even better than Maher as he is a great player so as long as Payne is at his best we should not miss Maher too much I say.
