I am going to try and get this running on the Norwich board and want to try it on here as well as there are plenty of Bluebirds here. For a bit of fun, over the course of the next season, I want to run a league along side the real football leagues but with a slight twist. How it works. 1. Each person chooses 1 team (any team) from any of the top 4 leagues in England. 2. Each team can only be nominated once on a first come, first served basis 3. You can not change your team until the end of the season, ready for the next season (if it proves sucessful and/or worthwhile) 4. There are no prizes - it's for fun. 5. Only open to Cardiff City fans Only league games scores are counted, not cup games. Points system. As with the current leagues in England it's 3 points for a win 0 points for a defeat 1 point for a draw As their are only 20 teams in the Premier League, for this to work the fun league needs to be restricted to 20 teams and team will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Based on the chosen teams, a fixture list will be created where each team will play each other twice Each time a team plays, their score will be allocated to the team in this fun league (League games only). For example Wigan Ath v Norwich on the first day of the season. Real scoreline on the day is 2-2. Wigan would be credited with 2 goals as would Norwich However, in the fun league Wigan might be playing Wycombe! (if anyone chooses them) And Wycombe (if anyone chooses them) score 3 goals in their first game. The fun league result would then be Wycombe 3-2 Wigan Ath and Wycombe would get the 3 points - Follow? It might get a bit messy around January when the FA Cup overlaps league games but it should not be too much of an issue. If a real game is postponed, those teams next league games will count in the fun league - still follow? I will post fixtures on each Friday on this forum. Updated results, and the league table will be posted the following Monday Hope you will have a go and support this effort. If interested please enter your chosen name by replying to this thread H Bomb, if the league takes off, could it be made a 'sticky' post? Any questions or suggestions to improve it are welcome So far the following teams have been chosen Division One Cardiff City - Bluebirds Middlesbrough - Taffthefish Leicester City - Blueforever123 Sheffield United - Isawronnymoorescore Swansea City - Dead_Passive Huddersfield - H Bomb Tottenham H - Rhondda54 DJ Bournemouth - Sayer77 West Ham Utd - Oldsparkey Gillingham - Blodders Birmingham City - AJ1927 Blackpool - Neokutai Arsenal - Privatebenjamin Carlisle Utd - Xsnaggle Crewe Alexandra - Itiwran Exeter City - MJW6150 Newcastle United - Bissmit Man Utd - The Bennifactor Brighton & H A - TaffyTuck Swindon Town - AndyLeMaz Division Two Chelsea - Captain Hook CCFC Man City - Blue Prophet Oxford Utd - Blue Sheep Shrewsbury - Daibush Sheffield Wed - Ego Sum Papa Dagenham & Redbridge - Bluebird Pagey Crawley Town - Snickernotsprint Aston Villa - Welshman Charlton Ath - DartfordBluebird Stoke City - MaestegBluebird 1981 Liverpool - Ghost Of Ninian Southampton - Mei-65 Everton - xLuKeYx Leyton Orient - Siambluebird Bristol Rovers - cvdbluebird Fulham - CityAce Rotherham - Boy in Blue Northampton - SBFF Reading - Concernedincardiff2011 Accrington Stanley - Master Betty Division 2 is now full - well done Bluebirds
Chelsea for me please!! cheers pal Not really because if it becomes a success then we can have promotion & relegation. As it's 1 team per user, then having 2 teams from the same user in the same division goes against that ruling. Yours, but in division 2. That's ok, Chelsea spent many years there not so long ago Haha cheers Thai! So are the 2 leagues going to run next to each other or is it basically the Prem and Champ with promotion/relegation? Great fun idea by the way pal I guess it's going to be a football league set up. If everyone likes it then we can promotions/relegation at the end of the season. Will have a full list of rules before we start in August Thai: call me picky but you've only listed 19 teams in Div1 on OP a possibility of Hooky getting promoted already? Ok sounds good to me, thanks pal. Good luck for the season by the way. Can you out me down for Man City? In a word - Yes Missed one of the list on the thread but not on the spreadsheet where it really matters no promotion for Captain Hook then. H Bomb - you got me all excited about a quick promotion then! Gutted! The leagues haven't even started yet and there is already lots of excitement and controversy haha Did I mention Sepp Blatter has a key role in this? Hooky: haha, sorry mate Thai: If Bladder is involved, where do I sent the 'brown envelope' ? Send to QPR FC Loftus Road South Africa Road West London W12 7PJ I'd rather burn it Suits me mate Make sure you do it when they are at home to Man Utd I meant the envelope but I take your point. Can I have Huddersfield? No Huddersfield taken can I have Oxford ? Can I have Shrewsbury? done Blue & Dai Shef Wed for me please Tottenham please concerned: Spurs are taken mate. Full lists in the OP Ego: done If it's not too late, I'll have Dagenham & Redbridge please EDIT: done I'll go for Swindon Town. Cheers snicker, Swindons taken mate. Take a look at the lists in the OP Good point, H. I'll take a punt on Crawley. EDIT: Done mate I'll take Aston Villa. Done Can you put me down for Charlton please. Had a look, haven't seen Stoke. Can you put me down for them please. Added Looks like I'm getting relegated! Was not the wisest of choices It was a joke to start with, but now I'd rather compete. Oh well I made my bed! I was struggling to decide and was tempted with AFC Wimbledon, but noticed Liverpool are still available, so might as well go for them... Liverpool please. Can I have Southampton please ? done Welcome aboard Mei Everton please. Also, does this work on goal difference per fixture, or purely goals scored? Eg, If Man United beat someone 2-1, but in your league were actually playing Chelsea, who beat their opponents 2-0, would it be scored as a draw, or would Chelsea win 2-1 via the goal difference? I may just be being a bit stupid, but it's late and I'm tired... Southampton - Mei-65 Everton - xLuKeYx Both added Works on work on goal difference on an overall basis, same as the football league Leyton Orients. Cheers. Is yours

Fulham are still available...they did quite well last season and scored quite a few goals. New manager though, so I guess it's a little awkward betting on them...
