Good Morning Everyone, As you'll recall Rotherham managed to bag the service of Becchio on loan!!! How many of you would have been happy had we taken him back? Why do Leeds fans dwell so much with former players? The deal that bought Del Febro to Elland Road does not seem to have a purchase agreement for Leeds according to Cagliari who claim the Italian international youngster will return to Italy on the 30th June next year! Looks like we are no closer to naming a new Manager. Garcia was our first choice, but he has signed for Watford, and accoding to Phil Hay, he is not confident of convincing Steve Clarke to take the vacant position. Clarke is the target now, according to the men in the know. Surely, if Clarke won't take it, Grayson would be the best of the rest? Agree? With the emergency transfer loan window opening next week, where do you think we need to strengthen? Which grounds that you have been to have the best and worst food? Any funny stories?
Morning Elland and all. Not bothered about Becchio. Twelve months without kicking a bal, surely has had an effect. Anyway , if he's that good, you'd expect a bigger club than Rotherham to have taken him. For me, the same applies to Grayson. Not sure the package Cellino will be offering would tempt a manager to leave another club anyway. Nice to see Elland up in time today
Morning Eire, yep, in the office by 7am this morning. Amazed Norwich did not use him at all. I don't think a goalscorer ever loses it, unless they did not have it in the first place. Difficult one, lets say you're one nil down, and you had Becchio, Hunt, Morison etc on the bench. Who would you bring on?
Morning elland ... Becchio will be very rusty and may well not get close to the player we knew at Leeds, but good luck to the lad, hope he scores a ton against Wall ... as so many ex players have said over the years, regardless of where they've gone to, once Leeds always Leeds ... I listened to Smudger Smith talking before the MKD/Scum game about Leeds and Cellino, and he spoke with genuine passion about his desire for the club to stabilise itself now, and then establish a top ten place in the Prem, funny he didn't bother to talk about Scum even though it was their game he was meant to be interviewed about ... Cagliari are probably playing silly buggers with Cellino seeing as they were forced to give up Adryan ... if Del Fabro settles and wants to be at Leeds long term, it don't matter what Cagliari say, the player will stay here ... I really can't see Clarke taking the Leeds job, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him return to London and go to Fulham when Magath finally gets flushed down the Thames ... Grayson must never return, for all the Leeds love he was ultimately still an ordinary manager, and the Leeds job was simply too big for him ... he genuinely hasn't got the intelligence to be a top class manager, and Lge One is where its at for him ... good luck to the fella, he may well eventually get Preston up but he won't take Leeds forward, that's for sure ... we definitely need to strengthen on the catering side, how about getting fcuking Nandos and Burger King into Elland Road? I wonder when the stupid catering contract Bates committed us to runs out? I think its end of this season, so expect pizza stalls to pop up in the concourse, and coffee shops selling cakes and biscotti, probably a pasta shop in every corner of the ground as well ... we have a good squad now, just need a good man in the dugout to pull them together and we'll be flying ... let the good times roll Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning all. Sadly very wealthy people tend to have an ego bigger than their bank accounts and are real control freaks. I worked for a wealthy Monaco based multi millionaire and experienced this. This means MC thinks he knows how to manage the team and won't fork out to secure the most important role for our club at this stage. We've enough players and options now. The biggest investment should now be a very good manager. Ego, control and getting someone in on the cheap appears to be the block to the piece of the jigsaw that we may once again fail to complete.
Good morning Matt and co from a dull Cote de Bardsey I think Cellino is a very astute man he got Smith to sign a 3 year contract and then promptly sold him thios enabled him to ask for more money for him which he got £750k His next move was to buy Doukara or whatever his name is this left him with room for yet another loanee and this I feel will be implemented next week .I listened to Stevie Wonder and I have got to agree with him when he suggested Chris Woods from Leicester at 22 years of age proven goalscorer in this league he would be the ideal choice.Becchio is history to old I'm afraid for the new United Finally my choice of coach Steve Clarke I thought he was unfairly treated at West Brom
Interesting what you're saying about the catering side. How does the food at Elland Road compare against other grounds? Which grounds have the best and worst grub? (I'll add this to the debate)
I've updated the squad thread for close of window http://www.not606.com/showthread.php?t=275304 Well, let me tell you about food at grounds!! Southend United, fcuking burger looked green and smelt like a dead rat ... Leyton Orient, the burger was orange ... one of the best pies I've had was behind the South Stand, the good old meat and potatoes ... Arsenal was very expensive and ordinary, much like Wembley ... Spurs fcuking over priced hot dog that was a poor excuse for a vienna sausage on a dry roll ... Coventry was good, specially at the old Highfield Road ... Forest Green did a good pie but now only serve vegetarian food ... Selhurst Park didn't bother because there were so many Leeds it was impossible to get anywhere near the counter ... Everton was okay, but what a fcuking depressing ground that was ... St Albans City did an excellent bacon buttie and quality cuppa ... ok I'll stop now so I don't take up all the grounds Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Billy did you mean.....Selhurst Park there were too many Leeds having a pee in the food area because there was only only about 4 toilets for the whole away section.......
you know pod, the facilities at Selhurst were damn poor as you rightly point out Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning all, first day back in the office I read somewhere that Southampton sells the most pies in the leagues. Have to admit, I havent had a bad one down there but cant remember what they were like at the Dell. Its all about Graveleys when visiting Elland Road!
I used to eat the balti pies at ER, but I concentrate on boozing so don't bother anymore. Morning Bucks and all the other rabble..
Morning Shaks, hope your well buddy Do they still do Balti pies? Or are they just always sold out by the time I get to the front of the queue?
