If they want it they can have it but must expect all the problems that will come with leaving the UK.

They don't decide on keeping our economy. They don't decide on how much of the UK debt they have to take them. They don't decide if they remain within the EU. They don't decide if they are eligible to be a part of NATO. They don't decide if they have a seat on the UN council. They don't decide if they keep the UK funded oil field equipment. They don't decide if they can keep any military equipment. They don't decide if they need a passport for crossing into the UK. They don't decide to if they can rejoin the UK when the country is inevidebly on it's knees begging for a bailout.

All of the above is actually how the world works and not my preference, Scotland has to start from scratch. In fact an independent Scotland doesn't meet the criteria to be a NATO member, and like other nations it will have to reapply for EU membership which will take 10 years minimum. Who knows how long UN membership takes? Nobody knows, some countries waited 30+ years!!

Think about the union flag? What will that look like? Surely it can't be included within it, if they leave?

St George cross with bottom two quarters green for Wales.

Or use the pre William the conqueror flag... Alfred the greats white Dragon on a red background. Alfred ruled over England and Wales.

I hope they also realise that all the English/Welsh supported jobs in Scotland will go also. Call centres in Scotland will be regarded no better than those based in asia.

Not all that bothered, but if the do vote yes, I assume that all the MP's in Westminster for Scottish constituencies get their P45's. You can't have your cake and eat it, even if its Dundee cake.

It's bound to wind up a failure and who will bail them out? The UK.

You know it will happen. Scotland not understanding implications of independence go in debt big time and UK tax payers money will be sent en masse to SCO.

If the No Vote wins, I think the rest of the UK should vote whether to kick Scotland out or not... <laugh>

What no one is mentioning and I see it as a bit of the elephant in the room is, Salmond is going on about the oil. What will happen when the EU ban fossil fuels. Might be 20 years or 50 years but I could well happen in the end. They can have all the oil they want but can't sell it. The big oil companies won't want to pay tax twice and if they pump it into Scotland, the scots will tax it. I don't see BP re-floating on an Edinburgh stock exchange with the currency issues, so they'll build a landing point in the north east of England. The English government will love that as it will create a shed load of jobs in an area that is crying out for it.

Also, they go on about fishing quotas. They claim they will join the EU but it's the EU that cap the quotas and on their own they would be in a much weaker position to negotiate about it.

Finally, my other half is Scottish and being she's not north of the border, she has no say. I believe there may be a legal challenge to that and most scots outside Scotland are in the no camp.
To coin a very Scottish phrase...... "Pile of Pish."

UK leaving Europe would be as bad for UK as Scotland leaving UK would be for Scotland.

EU needs to have some rules changed but it's not do bad that it should be left.

It doesn't need some rules changed it needs to be dismantled and started again. Pull out, watch as it slowly crumbles and others follow suit, start from scratch.

Scotland leaving the uk isn't the same as the uk pulling out of the eu.

A no tariff, free unhindered movement of goods, workers and capital; a shared defense from invasion pact; and negotiating as a group for better global trade. That's all the EU needs to do- and is really important. UK would be less competitive without it.

I don't agree with a lot of the other fluff that the EU has. If UK leaves- they'd never be allowed a veto if they tried to join up again. The Veto is important to prevent some of the stupider laws getting passed that Europes far left is in favour of.

EU isn't going to collapse if we leave. That's like saying England and Wales will collapse if Scotland leaves. We're only a small part of the EU.
