Let's have an independent England, I'm tired of my country being used as the world's doormat and I don't care if that does sound racist.

A doormat <laugh> Perhaps it's time for us to stop walking all over the world in our army boots then.

Time to start behaving like a small European country with great potential, the days of Empire should be finished by now.

But I am all for and Independent England.

Milk seems to be suggesting that getting rid of the Scotch will make the UK half Basque.

Not quite... that would be a red background with green and white crosses.

I removed the Scottish Saltire and added the Welsh flag (minus dragon) behind George and Patrick's crosses.

No King, I read no newspapers at all and if I did it wouldn't be that crap. England is the world's doormat and I think the UKIP should change to the EIP because where does the UK part of it stand if the Scotch get independence? What would be the point of a United Kingdom of England, Ireland and those petty minded little Welsh berks? I say an independent England so that no other country has any say in English affairs as those with devolution do now.

The Scots were too tough for even the Romans. Better give them whatever they want.

Luke, the Roman governor built his HQ at Stirling and reached Inverness before they were ordered to withdraw. There is also the Antonnine (sp)Wall way north of Hadrians so they were not too tough after all.

TMT please be careful with these comments it is not necessary to be abusive to the Welsh or Scots or anyone else to make your point. You lose your argument with this kind of post.

Murray was joking. The journalist in question used an intentionally loaded question to create a story.
I'm sure that he's got the usual Scots/English rivalry going, but nothing more.

Spurf, the Welsh and the Scots are abusive to us all the time and I do mean all the time. Why are you yet another who allows your country and countrymen to be abused and say nothing but only raise a voice when your country or countrymen fight back?

PNP, there's many a true word spoken in jest and there is no such being as a Scot or a Taff who wants England to win at anything. They want England and the English to lose all the time and at everything.

If you live in Scotland then ask what they really feel deep down, the answers would surprise you but not me.

I personally know a Swansea fan that's from there who posts on here regularly who sees England as his second team, internationally speaking.
He lives in London, he's engaged to an English girl and he loves England.

I also know quite a few Scottish people who view England in much the same way that I view Scotland and Wales.
They're like family or close friends. It's great to beat them when you're competing with them, but you're fighting the same corner most of the time and it's good to know that they've got your back.
Much like the Aussies, Kiwis and Canadians, we've got a lot more in common than we have separating us.
