Got to give him a chance haven't you...

Lets wait and see what Garcia can do with the squad.

    Needs time before being judged.

He'll soon get criticism though if he plays such negative football as has been suggested.

    We had that with Vialli.

The BIG question is: Can Alec Chamberlain survive another change?

Are bookies offering any odds? ;)

Seems a good appointment on paper, not bothered with Brighton fans negative comments they would not be saying them if they had won the play off's. The only down side as I see it is that his CV shows he likes to resign from his postions alot so we could have our third short term appointment under the Pozzo's and something that would continue as per pre Pozzo's involvement in the club as well.

Oscar Garcia is meeting his new colleagues at Watford this afternoon after taking over as head coach.

The former Albion boss has agreed a contract believed to run until the end of next season.

He is likely to be joined by Ruben Martinez, his goalkeeping coach at the Amex and in two stints at Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Firstly, he ticks more boxes than our last manager.

Secondly, thank god he has the International Break to get things up and running.

Thirdly, it might not be a bad thing if Alec Chamberlain goes.

Finally, I hope he gets us up! RAPIDAMENTE!

Suppose the coaches will speak English which might be something..

If Garcia likes a defensive style of play Doyley will be in the squad as that is his strength.

    Afterall even Zola played him!

Interesting that on the day we announce a new boss, this thread has slipped below threads about Scottish independence, best ever Watford wins, worst ever Watford defeats, politics, pub quiz, etc.

Glad we have someone with some championship experience, but time will tell. Wonder if we spoke to RDM and I wonder who ruled who out. Hilarious that OG chose us over the mighty, dirty Leeds. Obviously no ambition <whistle>

'With all due respect to Watford even if they are promoted this year their natural limitations will probably see them peak in lower mid table in the Prem before eventually sinking to the Championship again - they're on a par with Norwich.

Get Leeds United buzzing again and there really is no limit to how far this club can go.

Either way, in the fullness of time...I suspect it will be Garcia that made the mistake of choosing Watford rather than Leeds 'missing out' on Garcia...'

    Priceless <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Much as we may like to mock, sadly in these days there's a great deal of truth in their claims.

However, so long as our "eventually sinking" back to the Championship takes about 40 years (like Coventry), and the "get Leeds buzzing again" takes about that long as well, then we haven't got too much to worry about.
