The White House is investigating reports of the beheading of US hostage Steven Sotloff by Islamic State militants in a video.

He was last seen in Syria in August 2013 until he appeared in a video released online last month by the Islamist group which showed the murder of fellow American journalist James Foley, who was also beheaded.

Sotloff was threatened with death in that video, unless the US stopped airstrikes aimed at IS in Iraq.

The freelance journalist appeared dressed in a similar jumpsuit in Tuesday's footage which was entitled A Second Message To America.

it seems, in hindsight, that getting rid of saddam is the worst thing that could have been done! it seems like in some parts of the world you need a ruthless lunatic in power to keep some of the population firmly in check!

The USA and, as a result, ourselves have been compulsive nose poker inners over the last few decades! Into affairs that i found the reasons for our presence to be very dubious! But, as somebody has pointed out earlier in the thread, surely it is down to the UN to pass some sort of resolution where an equal number of troops from numerous nations get involved! This is a fight between civilisation and evil that may have repercussion against everyone wanting to live peacefully, no matter where you are from. However I could fully understand why some countries would just want to sit back and want the USA and Britain to sort it out themselves as it was us who helped create this mess in the first place!

 

Believe this should be ''the world'' v. IS. Even if IS took whatever they want in middle east territory, then took over Uk, then USA, they wouldn't be satisfied and stop there.
