We are short of a pacey forward and a creative CM player in my opinion, can not see us breaking into the top four this season and we will finish anywhere from 5th to 7th.

We may as well go all out for a cup, would love it if we won the Europa League and qualified for the CL, the irony.

Football wouldn't be any fun if hope weren't involved. We board a psychological roller coaster to divert ourselves.

Still, this question is a good example of how to slant response based on how you phrase the options. I'm probably 7/10 pleased with where Spurs are right now. But I certainly wouldn't say that all is great.

If we aren't good enough for top 4 we aren't good enough to win the Europa.

Not necessarily, King. Teams can often win cups when they lack the consistency to compete for titles.
I'm not convinced that this is the case with us though, as we lack enough firepower to rock the better sides.
The CL dropdown will probably screw us again, in all likelyhood.

Agreed. An extra plus for Pochettino is that he wasn't Levy's first choice (given Levy is s**t at picking managers). I think we may need patience with players as well as managers, incidentally. I don't know how many times I've heard, well, he wasn't any good in the three and half games he played in two months, so he's obviously crap. Players need time to settle just like anyone else.

Huddlefro's article I mostly agree with, except I think he's too harsh on Ade and Paulinho, and maybe on Soldado as well. Ade may be frustrating, but he was also our best player against Liverpool, and potentially very valuable in helping very young players settle. Paulinho's crap year last year produced 8 goals in part time play. While I think he's showed he's not a good "2" option, he's also looking like a good CAM option. I'm much more skeptical about Townsend and Lennon, since Paulinho has a record of producing goals, and may well improve significantly with the light workload he's likely to get in the near future.

As for cups: nothing in Pochettino's record or style of play indicates he's a cup coach. Cup coaches tend to be the ones who park the bus to protect leads.

There is a possibility Tim Sherwood will be sat at home saying "I completed the league double over that clown" at some point. although I hope Pochettino isn't called a clown as that means he would have failed.

I'm sure Timmy is too busy preparing himself for the call from Old Trafford, that he knows is bound to come very soon. He'll probably tell them that they waited too long, which means they didn't really want him enough, anyway.

I've woken up more positive. I'm now on the more positive side of "ERM...dunno".

I blame Liverpool, they cloud everything because they keep tonking us, its just rude.
