Very interesting interview with Italian journalist Ema Giulianelli. Big surprise for me was that Pulis was aproached. Wasn't surprised that he turned it down. Enjoy .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMctQqGZ7To
From Cellino's letter to fans in the programme today: "I will select a coach that can help the club and the supporters must realise it may not be a 'big' name."
Nooooooo. He's doing a cracking job at the academy. Promote him, results eventually go wrong, he's sacked and we've then lost a great academy coach. Not sure he'd want it anyway
I like him too much to give him the job. If it was under another Administration I would actually give him the job
As a coach - not a manager - there are few better than him! He's coached at Newcastle, West Ham and Liverpool, was part of Mourinho's backroom team during his first Chelsea spell (he was Jose's assistant manager) and has glowing recommendations from virtually everybody he's ever worked with or for. He did a very good job in his first season with West Brom, and was probably sacked prematurely in his second season. Cellino isn't looking for a manager, and given his penchant for getting involved, no self-respecting manager would want the job, unless they're another non-league nobody. Clarke is a coach though, and a very astute one. I'd see it as a real coup if we managed to pull it off, really hope he comes in.
Can't predict who'll get the nod from Cellino. According to Phil Hay he offered the job to Nigel Gibbs after the Watford game. Gibbs turned it down and that's the only reason Cellino 'changed his mind' about sacking Hockaday and kept him on for Bradford.
