When Walcott comes back, he slots in on the right where he always plays. Sanchez then goes on the left, with Welbeck up front. Ozil goes back to his central position.

Ozil's being played on the left purely because Walcott's injured.

Ozil should be played in the centre end of. We have OXO and Pod who can fill in on the left. Wenger's fiddling isn't working, he should just go back to his normal player assignment and put Ozil back in his rightful place.

If Sanchez plays centrally it'll be as a no.10. He is not a centre forward.

I think when Walcott comes back Sanchez will play on the left.

    Sanchez-----Welbeck----Walcott

is the preferred lineup. I don't want to see Sanchez as our CF, he is best on the wings cutting in, same with Walcott. But I do hope that Wenger changes his strategy and plays with pace and use counters when playing away to top teams. We have the pace now so we should use it.

I'm guessing because our system works with a 'big man' upfront to hold up the ball and occupy the defenders - this Welbeck isn't - so I'd imagine the system could be changed/tweaked a bit.

Unless (god forbid) we'll be playing a

    -------------Ozil------------
    Welbeck--Sanogo--Sanchez

    Frontline until Walcott comes back

Welbeck is best up front. Sanchez is best AMR. Ozil is best AMC.

Which means we'll play Sanchez up front, Ozil on the left and Welbeck centre mid.

  8. With The Ox, Walcott, Welbeck, Wilshire, Hendo, Sterling, Studge and Lallana between us, I guess Arsenal and Liverpool will be providing a lot of the England midfield and attack over the next few years then.

Much like United it won't mean much if there's nothing in the middle of the park to boss things. Where is England's Toure/De Rossi/Schweinsteiger/Martinez/Vidal/Pogba etc

What is our current first choice central midfield? Wilshere and Henderson. Jeez...

Welbeck is an interesting choice. My gut reaction is that he isn't good enough, but that statistic someone put up earlier is quite telling. If he was a very good striker, he certainly wouldn't be noticed being behind Rooney and RVP in the pecking order as he was.

It could be a piece of genius from Wenger, or it could be just a good stop-gap.

Either way he is a striker that can start now, and doesn't have to get used to the PL. He also might be quite highly motivated, is "home-grown" (good for squad counts) and generally should fit in well with the young England lads.

Can't see too much downside to this, and if he does score 25+ goals, or even just more than Falcao, we are going to be merciless.

Not being ****ty to Welbeck but very few players get 25 goals per season...injuries, being rested/rotated, suspensions and loss of form all come into play ... if he gets 15-20 goals he will be a success especially as he is not a penalty taker

I agree. Easily capable with our midfield.

15 starts for United last Season. = 10 goals.

Different systems. We do not know how Wenger will play Welback and what kind of strategy he will employ for the team. I hope he utilises the speed that we have now and play more direct/counter.
