You really think that most people on here rated Sandro cos of his social media presence?!

And perhaps it was not the point you were making (though it certainly seemed like it was) but I've read several people say that his Tweeting somehow got in the way of his performances. I think cos they saw him a) not playing and b) tweeting so came to the conclusion that those two facts summed up his entire life.

  2. Been out all evening, and only just back.

So, let me try to get this straight...

We get shot of Holtby and Sandro, we keep Disco Benny and Townsend, and we fail to get in a decent striker. Or even a half-decent striker.

    Hm.

Looks like the North London Power-Shift can be cancelled for yet another season, lads.

I've seen people go on and on about Sandro like he's Lionel Messi and i assume it must be down to his 'personality' because as a player he wasn't anything special and certainly not good enough for all the hysteria i'm seeing online now.

    Yup.

On the plus side, Welbeck has gone to Arsenal so we dodged a bullet there.

How is the new stadium coming along? I've not heard anything recently. I assume it's full steam ahead and pretty much paid for considering the spending power of prem teams and the fact we've spent a net zero for YEARS.

As mothman said we just sold ALL our passion in 1 window, and our captain.

If Utd and Hull gel, a problem that seems purely Spurs related, then we could finish 9th. I hope we're not looking anxiously over our shoulders at West ****ing Ham

Being honest the passion was sold a few years back by our two walking corpses.
It just had a smokescreen .

    Would you believe it.
It's official we are the bottom of net spending in the league over the last 5 years.
We make an average 3 million a year on transfers .
Silly clubs like Palace, Burmley, WBA spend far more than us even Everton.
As Ian Dury said " reasons to be cheerful "
We must all turn negatives into positives , it's the only way to enjoy it.

Completely underwhemled,we needed another striker, what happens now if Ade or Kane get injured, with Soldado out,and not scoring anyway, and still need a creative player

I do wonder just what the aims and ambitions of this club are. Apart from making a profit that is. We don't seem to have the aim of doing much more.

All I can see, at the moment, is yet another year of a new manager trying to do the best he can with a distinctly average squad of players, and then being made to carry the can for his "failure" to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

As Yogi Berra said, "It's déjà vu all over again"

I didn't realise just how hard Sandro's departure would hit me, I thought I'd braced for his exit pretty well over recent weeks but seeing him in the QPR shirt last night somewhat devastated me. If the fee of £6m is true as well then we've well and truly been bent over the desk on that one, QPR have managed to get our best pound-for-pound midfielder for peanuts. I think we'll massively regret the decision to let him go.

Overall though it's been a solid window for us I think. We strengthened the positions that massively needed strengthening - LB and CB. We've added a great under study to Hugo and added a promising defensive midfielder who seems to be similar to Schneiderlin, though it's far too early to compare.

I suppose a little disappointed we didn't add an another attacking threat, I said at the start of the season I don't think we needed one but seeing the deals made on the last couple of days by rival clubs - Utd with Di Maria and Falcao, Everton with Eto'o, Pool with Mario, Arsenal with Welbeck - made me think perhaps we should've added someone just to boost the ranks and give us another option but it's not the be all and end all. Adebayor is one of the league's best on his day, no one can deny that and if Soldado can get his head up and remember he is a great striker then we'll be fine, especially with Kane who gets better by the game waiting in the wings.

Now is time to really get behind the manager, we all knew that when he joined there was a huge emphasis on him working on improving with what we have and I think with the smart additions we've made, we could still be in for a decent season. It's the toughest it's been around the top in years, there are 7 teams fighting for the top 4 spots and it should make for great entertainment.

We massively lack passion (now Dawson, Sandro and to a certain extent Holtby have gone) and leadership.

I read that Defoe was linked with a move back, must be crazy and I'm glad we didn't get Wellbeck. What he will do for Arsenal I'm not sure. Eto'o to Everton doesn't bother me so I'm happy that some of our so called targets didn't come.

it all points to the cost of the new stadium I'm afraid. Much like L'Arse, there's going to be some belt tightening whilst that gets off the ground. Last season we sold big and spent big, hoping the new faces would do the job. I think Levy has all of his hopes on Poch that he can get this group of players performing with a few new additions.

Gutted to see Sandro go though. QPR got him for a snip at 6 mil. Absolute steal. Feel robbed.

I'd like to know how far along we are with it. I've not been to Tottenham recently, is there building works? I also think Levy should write one of his lovely open letters explaining if that is indeed the case. I'd also like to know how much of it is financed and how long we will be crippled for.
