Wow aint it nice that we are getting Premiership fans writing onto our boards... Must be that there is nowt nice about theirs or the Premiership... Maybe they can enlighten us!

But whatever the outcome, we now have 9million to spend and hopefully PJ will spend it wisely... Remember lads, Sunderland are a massive club cos thats why they have won the Premiership 5 TIMES, haven't they!!!!!!!!

We may very well be the smallest club in the Premier League (we aren't). However, the Premier League is where we are.

Have fun trying to get in the top 8 of the Championship, which I suppose with your recent record would be a great season for you.<ok>

Back on topic, as opposed to Budgie bashing and the like, I think it is a bad move for Wickham. Granted, he does get to play against the top teams in the country, but he will miss out on developing the basic physical attributes.

We know what a tough league the Championship is on the body, and if Wickham had stayed he'd be starting around 50 games a season (providing he's fit and including cup matches), whereas at Sunderland, he can probably expect comfortably less, with many as a sub. He also has less expectation here (in theory, at least), as he is playing for a team in the second tier, rather than being in front of all the nation and overwhelmed by media hype.

I sincerely hope it goes well for him, and I do like Sunderland as a club. Would I have moved if I was in Wickham's boots? Of course. Do I think he should have? No.
