Ifhesigns hewill becover for the injured Giroud at CF, not playing out wide. We have plenty of wide players to fill in for Walcott.
I actually like the movement and energy that Welbeck provides, he just lacks the goals. He's not worth £16m but all prices seem to have been inflated this summer anyway. Ironically, I think Welbeck is exactly the type of player Man Utd were lacking in their line-up
He's shocking when playing up front as a CF. His strengths are coming in from th left pulling players out of position for CF's to get the space they need. Have you seen him play as a CF? It's not pretty.
What he's best at really doesnt matter. We have plenty of wide players - Walcott, Sanchez, Oxocube, Podolski, one of Cazorla/Ozil, Campbell and other AM's who can fill in wide. Through the middle despite having players who can play centrally we lack CF options, particularly with Giroud out until January. Sanogo can't lead the line alone lol
If Welbeck does move to Arsenal then one of Man Utd or Arsenal are going to look really ****ign stupid at the end of the season. Smart money is on it being us.
What are you boys thinking? You need a goal scorer not another bit part player. If anything, you should have brought Hernandez on the cheap if anybody from United. Weird.
You need a goal poacher. He is that. He can head, volley and score along the ground. Definitely worth a punt at probably 8 mill.
Welbeck will do well for Arsenal. Not a world class player, but still very decent. With the supply he'll get from Sanchez, Walcott, Cazorla, Ozil he will score goals.
Welbecks good in that he works very hard for the team in whatever position he's played. Also showing desire to play in coming to Arsenal, rather than being 4th choice behind 3 top strikers. Plus a bit of ambition, moving from a team that finished 8th to a champions league club... . He'll be a decent signing, nothing special, that will help cover for Giroud.
What an underwhelming end to our transfer window. Buying a mid-table team striker for a club aiming for the title and champions league. Only time will tell if this transfer works out. He will do well with the quality around him, but he isn't good enough to make us challenge the likes of Chelsea and City. We have one too many weaknesses to maintain a full season challenge. Instead of using the window well, we missed out.
Lets be clear, I think Welbeck is a decent player and in fact plays reasonably well for England. I see he has uses and the move is great for him and he could now kick on. I just don't think he'll provide the razor sharp finish which is what I think Arsenal need right now. You've bought another Podolski.
I know but you've had months to conclude that one. Shame Wenger is refereeing a match. What is that about on transfer deadline? Bizarre.
You realise Podolski's best attribute is his finishing right? As in the total opposite of what your claiming Welbeck is? So how have we bought another Podolski?
Only time will tell if any transfer works out - United may have bought a couple of duds in Di Maria and Falcao - only time will tell.
The only dud I suspect Utd have bought is Shaw. Falcao may or may not end up justifying the £50m or whatever it is they're paying but I'm pretty sure he'll score a decent number of goals
