Did anyone see that Sloan Digital Sky Survey video several years back? If so, just remastered it (can't believe nobody did that already). The grey is gone and the Black and contrast and colours are now in full glory!! And yeah, added music as well.... real big headphones, 1080p option and a bloody big screen highly, highly, highly recommended before watching this. First time viewers you are in for a shock!!! Can't wait to see what they come up with for the Milkyway, they are mapping every visible star... all 100 billion of them. That should test those new 4K UHD televisions to the test!
My PC is going as fast as it can!! It's been a work in progress for years on the BOINC distributed computing system, about a million people worldwide have given processing time towards it. You download the app, it sends a tiny bit of data and your machine does the calculations and then sends it back. The next bit of data follows. I've probably donated over a hundred hours but no idea how many stars are currently done.
Amazing.... Now where's DragonPhill to tell us all that someone with a big white beard sitting on a puffy cloud made that lot. Second thoughts...let's not go there again.
Each one is a galaxy - not a snowflake Scientists reckon there are almost certainly millions, maybe billions of planets like ours - are we alone? Not on your nellie. Makes you feel kinda small. Story of my life.
Here is the raw video, Youtube has a knack for compressing and butchering video's after they have uploaded. http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/10949780/SDSS_Remastered.mp4 (Yup, it's a torrent file but my computer is clean. And PBay is still accessible if you use PirateBrowser)
