Celtic now trying to sign 22-year-old Sweden striker John Guidetti on loan from Man City. The player was on loan at Stoke last season and failed to score a goal. But before Celtic fans say 'Oh great, another strikers who can't find the net', the hitman also banged in 20 goals in 23 games for Feyenoord during a previous loan stint so there is a goalscorer in there. Problem is, the Parkhead club now have less than three hours to get the deal over the line.
He has a not bad record when he is given a run of games. Might not be up to premiership level but should be good enough for us.

At 6 ft 1, Guidetti is a strong, tall, technical striker who is well equipped to lead the line effectively. He has drawn comparisons with former Manchester City player Mario Balotelli for his physical prowess, pace, and ability to score goals with both feet. Koeman said that Guidetti’s technical ability was “on the same level as players such as Rafael van der Vaart and Wesley Sneijder at that age”. As his record suggests, Guidetti is a superb finisher who is also adept at shooting early from the edge of the area. However, as well as his goalscoring credentials, he is also good at bringing team-mates into play – he notched nine assists during his time at Feyenoord.
Beeb saying Celtic still looking at Scepovic deal, assume we would get shot of Pukki if both come in?
Looks like John Guidetti deal is done. John Guidetti loan deal from Man City to Celtic looks like it is close to completion. The Sweden striker is now at Parkhead.
While Manchester City striker John Guidetti was reportedly set to join either Fiorentina or Palermo, Sky Sports News HQ claim that the Swedish international has emerged as a last-minute target for Celtic. With a deal for Sporting Gijon’s Stefan Scepovic collapsing, the Scottish champions have been forced to continue their hunt for help up front, with their attentions now turning to the out-of-favour Premier League man. The 22-year-old has struggled to make his mark at City since arriving in 2008, but did enjoy a successful loan spell with Feyenoord during the 2011-12 campaign, scoring 20 goals in 23 Eredivise games. However, after spending the second-half of last season at Stoke, where he made just six substitute appearances under former manager Mark Hughes, the Swede finds himself behind the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Stefan Jovetic and the soon-to-depart Alvaro Negredo in the pecking order, with first-team opportunities again looking limited this term.
And people were doubting Peter Lawwell. The guy is a genius for getting someone to take these guys of our hands.
