Senegal have a tough group in their ACN qualifiers, with Egypt, Tunisia and Botswana making up decent competition. I fancy Egypt and Tunisia to progress, so we might not lose him for January. It would mean losing Elmo though.

I'll echo what others have said, I'd already be happy with this transfer window if nothing else happens now. Ince, Snodgrass, Robertson, Maguire, Livermore, Dawson, Hernandez and Diame in is some serious investment even if we did see Long go, and the Snodgrass injury could not have been anticipated. Boyd going out made sense as he'd see limited pitch time as backup, with £3m being a good value.

Some of the signings might need more time than others to gel/settle but we're starting to get some real depth now.

I have a feeling we are not finished yet.

It certainly makes a change from the usual deadline days...

-Player A is coming!
-Oh, Player A went somewhere else.
-Player B is coming!
-Oh, Player B went somewhere else too.
-Player C is in talks!
-Err, guess where Player C went?
-Player D is on the... ahh bugger, the deadline just passed.
