From official site. Hull City have completed the signing of Uruguay striker Abel Hernandez for a club record fee from Serie A side Palermo. Hernandez, 24, who featured at this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil, has signed a three-year deal at the KC Stadium with a club option of a fourth year. Netting 14-times last term as Palermo won promotion back to Serie A as champions, Hernandez joins the Tigers following five seasons with the Sicilian club where he formed a mouth-watering attack partnership with fellow countryman Edinson Cavani. Competing with the likes of Cavani and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez for a starting berth in the Uruguay set-up, Hernandez has scored seven goals in 14 caps since making his debut against Angola in 2010. Hernandez’s arrival comes hot on the heels of the signing of Tottenham hotspur captain Michael Dawson, as the Tigers continue to strengthen their squad before tonight’s transfer deadline. “Abel is a fantastic signing and highlights just how far the Club has come in such a short space of time,” said manager Steve Bruce. “He is an exciting talent and like myself, I’m sure the supporters can’t wait to see him in action,” added Bruce.
