If social media and fans forums are to be believed, not many people have bought this season's shirt. If we signed a household name for once, would that not be a profitable venture for Ashley?

I seem to remember Beckham getting flogged around because his name on a top was worth more to the club than his wages took out?

I know it's slim chance of us getting a player like that, but surely to god buying no marks from France cuts revenue streams? Sometimes I question the sanity of our game plan.

I genuinely find it difficult to believe that the club would leave itself with 3 central defenders. I think this must mean someone is coming in.

I didn't see the game on Saturday, but judging by the comments on our defending would any 2 of these 3 have done worse?

Now come on, that is somewhat stretching it! He was only of the fringes of the french squad when he arrived. He wasn't "Pardewed", he just wasn't very good. I kinda see why Blanc cut him from his squad for Euro 2012 and Wenger backed away from following up his initial interest. Between him and Saylor we have our very own version of the chuckle brothers. Neither has a ****ing clue about basic defending, when and when not to attack the ball. Both just moronicly run out of position without any thought for the consequences. Saying that, Colo for the 2nd goal on Saturday was like watching U10's. Really bad U10's.

I have no real knowledge of how good or bad Nastasic is to be honest. He can't be any worse than we have! I thought he looked very good on the ball when I watched him, but lacked aggression. The eastern block lads tend to do quite well over here though, good strong mentality towards defending and physicality.

Despite my very deep scepticism, I cannot believe that. Maybe tomorrow I will. At the moment, however it is beyond my belief.

It is thought that #besikitas are looking to resurrect a deal for HBA after he turned them down at the weekend along with #bcfc loan"

#nufc are spending the last few hours of the window trying to sell Hatem Ben Arfa."

Ashley's copter at newcastle airport and private jet from the states. The source on twitter seems solid. Jet has american registration. Could be arse but there you go. If its defoe I would be very happy.

Hearing #nufc unlikely to sign a MYM replacement. Thinking is he wouldn't have played. With HBA news, it could be a frustrating night..."

I would have more faith in Satka than Saylor and Good can't be any worse than Willo!

Pathetic from the club yet again.

Only ever do the bare minimum (at best) when it comes to recruitment. Absolute shambles.

Go back 12 months, then again 24 months and I imagine you/we said exactly the same thing.

Urrgh. Flirting with relegation will probably be the best we can hope for.

If this is true, what are they thinking? Colo has been injury prone for a while now and Taylor is consistently poor and pretty much a perma-crock. We're going to get to see whether Satka, Good or Streete can cut it I guess.
