Disagree this has shown us very badly regarding transfers , price agreed for player, player has medical and we then ignore them and don't respond, very unprofessional . Your random speculating and guessing is as bad without any substance to back it up.
It does happen, Nigel Pearson is always saying in interviews agents are trying to drum up interest in our players and Nigel being Nigel lets rip without naming names. We don't know the complete ins and outs other then what Uwe Rosler has said and as we all know sometimes they managers are always kept up to speed with transfers. We might have told Dave Whelan or his agent that we aren't interest anymore Who knows we might have went back in for him if we could have moved someone on or wanted a 6th midfielder. That know seems impossible with the comments
What about Remi agreed deal from QPR to Liverpool then The Reds pulling the plug saying he'd failed a medical...had he really failed or did they get cold feet ? Who really knows.... Harry says he's fit as a fiddle ! Any way that aside, We had'nt totally agreed a deal as the payment structure we offered was not accepted by Wigan so its not a done deal in my eyes & who from our club has called the deal off ? FFs look how long this Cambiasso deal deal has taken to conclude ! Until we hear our version on events it's too early to judge imo ? Poor Mc Arthur , my fookin arse ! How many players contracted to a club decide to put a transfer request in or( in extreme cases gone on strike ala Van Hooidonk ) if a better offer comes along ?
Ffs why not read what I posted instead of spouting total and utter bollocks! Where have I said poor McArthur? I said if we've used him to get Cambiasso to sign its a piss poor way of doing business - I emphasised the use of the word 'if' as well. This place gets more like foxestalk every time I come on here!
Quote from Geoff Peters - probably the only thing we'll hear from our side? Who used who here? Our club have made no public comment on the player. As the Cambiasso situation dragged on (and he was always the number one target), Leicester had to sound out other options just in case it didn't happen - and they did this privately. Whelan on Wednesday then said they'd accepted our bid for McArthur - repeated by most media outlets, local and national. My information (and information also subsequently given to the Mercury) was that Leicester strongly disagreed with Whelan's assessment of the situation. (And that's putting it lightly.) One might argue Whelan spoke publicly to hurry us along and/or circulate the availability and price of a player he was keen to offload. I don't see how we used McArthur at all. I do think Wigan used us a bit. A lot of transfers are conducted privately - some happen, some don't - but you don't get all this bitching from one club to another. Wigan made it public, their manager now has to back his chairman. It could've played out very differently - and without fuss - had it not been brought into the public domain. And it wasn't us who did that.
Fully agree. It was Whelan who shouted it from the rooftops! In every interview I have seen with Pearson, he has always refused to name names when it comes to transfer speculation. Whelan needs to keep his own house in order and stop inflating prices and naming players he wants off his playing staff!!!! Tosser!!
I also said what about Remi's agreed move from QPR to Liverpool ? plus the fact that nobody from our club has said we have pulled out of the deal, so until we hear from a representative of LCFC's version of events we perhaps ought to reserve judgement me thinks ! Is all you seem to be doing is basing your opinion on what Rosler has accused us of, which could could be wide of the mark eh ? Admittedly nowhere have you said "poor McArthur " I never said you had ! I was merely pointing out that players f** clubs about day in day out & nothing is said but once a club( supposedly) f** a player about your up in arms....Welcome to the layer cake lol
I think this is being blown out of proportion. We needed a midfielder. Our number one target was Cambiasso. Cambiasso's agent ****ed us about. We looked elsewhere, identified McArthur and put a number of bids in. Cambiasso's agent realised he'd pushed it too far (and that there weren't any better offers on the table) and came crawling back. We signed our number one target, and cancelled the signing of our second target, who is now being targeted by another Prem club anyway. Whelan's just pissed because he nearly got £7m+ for a player that's not worth it. No juicy bidding war now.
Poor Mc Arthur , my fookin arse ! - your words not mine Where have I mentioned about ****ing a player about? The point I was making that it might make other transfers/clubs uneasy with dealing with us 'if' true - how many times do I need to point out the 'if' word to you! At the time of the original post there wasn't any information only from Wigans end hence me putting 'if' true, I've made no judgement whatsoever just an opinion on the information that was available at the time. What happens between Qpr/Liverpool I personally don't give a **** about - I do care about Leicester City and the clubs conduct and any future transfers hence I didn't bother replying to the comment about Remi.
Calm lads - lots of conjecture here ... personally I hope we haven't raised the lad's hopes of a deal other than making a speculative bid ... i.e hope he didn't have a medical and that we then drop out because we have signed Cambiasso etc ... hopefully more facts will emerge ... but let's not lose sight of the fact that we, Leicester City FC, have just signed an actual, real, 'galactico' ... Lee Morris, Junior Lewis, Josh Low ... it was ALL WORTH IT!!!!!!
Last time we got promoted we signed players like Paul Brooker, Steve Howey, John Curtis, Nicolas Priet, Danny Coyne, Lilian Nalis, Keith Gillespie, Craig Hignett, Peter Canero and Ricky Scimeca How times have changed. We spent 7M on a bloke from Argentina and took another one for free
Best things about that Boydy goal was A) it was a kind of improvised overhead kick, and B) his celebration... please log in to view this image
Oh come off it, this is being blown way out of proportion. We made an offer to Cambiasso, which seemed to be unlikely to happen, so rather then sit there twiddling our thumbs waiting for Cambiasso to reject us on deadline day and leave us no time to look for another CM, we went out and looked at other options. It's hardly a criminal offence. We aren't the first club to do this, and we certainly won't be the last.
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28983784 I don't know what the issue is here - Wigan accepted the price but did not accept the bid so deal was off. Is just Rosler being a twat and good on NP for putting him in his place.
From my reading of what are, to be honest, rather scant details, it appears to me that we made an offer of a specified 'price' but with a particular payment structure built in (possibly instalments or milestone based) ... Wigan were happy with the quantum price but not the method / structure of payment ... we stuck to our guns on the latter and therefore the deal collapsed ... I sincerely believe that we did not USE the lad to hurry through the Cambiasso deal ... if we had tried to do that then Esteban would probably have laughed in our faces ... think on it ... "if you don't sign today Esteban; it's only fair to warn you that we will instead sign a lad from Wigan ... who has alreday been capped once for ..... Scotland .... so doom on you!!!!" ... really?
To quote Cambiasso "Leicester's first choice was Cambiasso, 2nd choice was Cambiasso and 3rd choice was Cambiasso" If we signing Nick Powell I would imagine we did want both McArthur and Cambiasso but probably wanted a decent amount of McArthur's fee is bonuses if we stay up etc Interesting @bbcsport_david 1m Palace sources say McArthur fee around £5m & not club record (Gayle). Medical/terms now. #CPFC still in for striker/defender #bbcdeadlineday
Dis he really say that? That is Bendtner level of arrogance there. They must have offered £5M upfront while we didn't.
