    Hot off the press Defoe to sign for the town ME said the proceeds of dids departure will go towards the transfer and he( ME) would personally hold press conference and state that he will personally pay the £40,000 week wages. Cut ticket prices by 25 percent. And will from now on be a more visable chairman

    Lived there 1969-1975,at that time a number of the Town players of the day lived nearby,(Geoff Hammond, Mick McNeill from memory)shows how much more wealthy footballers have become in the intervening period-don't s'ppose there's many of the present Town squad live on the Crofts even on Second Tier pay!

    That figures!

    I moved away from Ipswich in 1982 and only go back to watch the football so I dont get chance to explore the Town Centre much! Castle Hill hasn't changed though! <laugh>
