Its not just one though, we haven't played 'well' all season apart from stoke when we went down to 10. And stoke struggle to even play football.
eh? You missed that bit where we struggled to get past trencin and failed to get past lokeren over 2 legs?
Our second team played in 4 of those, the 3 league games we won one, drew one which we played well in, and played badly in the third. I really don't think we should be panicking after losing our first league game of the season.
I went to the game yesterday, I thought we were well organised to a point, forget the goals, poor control (jelly) & bad pass (dawson) we were comfortable, without being at our best, Lambert says that's their best performance for ages especially the first half, then they have problems, the problem for me is when we attack, its to slow to get forward, so the opposition get men behind the ball, also I don't think Ince fully understood his role, he is a neat footballer but I would imagine he was to support Jellavic, but he was to far away. Some good signs though, Robertson again looks like a real find comfortable on the ball and a real athlete, Brady looked lively, Rosenior gave a better balance to the defence, Dawson appears to have fitted in well. Don't know if Davies was injured before the game, but he did not seem up for it, not like him. One other point sometimes it feels like we set out to be solid and don't know whether to stick or twist
I don't see people panicking, I just see people disappointed that so far this season, we haven't been good enough.
Blaming Jelavic for their first goal is a bit harsh. Yes it was a poor touch, but there was a lot of subsequent feeble defending offered before the ball hit the net.
Forget Europa League it's gone now, you think in the Premier League we haven't been good enough? In the majority of our games (two out of the three) we've had good performances and positive results.
You didn't go to QPR did you? Despite the result, we were ****e. You can dress it up any way you like, it won't change the fact that we've played seven competitive games and were good in one of them.
Yes I did go to QPR. We weren't ****e at all, winning away from home isn't about playing brilliantly and looking fantastic. A 1-0 scrappy win away from home is just how you have to win sometimes, moaning when you win is ridiculous.
We're discussing the fact that we haven't played very well this so far this season, not moaning about winning at QPR while not playing very well.
Completely agree. To say we've been poor this season seems to me to defy the evidence. I didn't see the European games when we fielded largely reserve teams but in the three league games I think we've looked better than last season with Robertson in particular outstanding, Quinn back to his best, and Brady yesterday looking like the Brady of old. I think Hudd has been below par and Davies not at his best but overall we've improved IMO. At QPR we were not at our best, but the 10-man draw with a strong Stoke side (which beat Man City yesterday) was very impressive in the circumstances, and we were all over Villa yesterday in the second half after a tactical mistake by Bruce in the first half which he corrected in the second half. To say we have been "****e" is just plain ridiculous. With a new striker in to support the hard-working Jelavic (2 in 3 games) and hopefully Diame signed to provide some movement and thrust in CMF we should be fine and hopefully a solid mid-table team. We are well situated on the wing and at the back with the signing of Dawson. To me the future looks brighter than ever. I don't understand the negativity from some on here.
