As our first choice midfield trio?

    -----------Blind
    --Herrera - Di Maria

Lots of energy, decent passing abilities. The energy should be higher.

Would you not rather play Di Maria in his most effective position (out wide) and Mata in his (centrally)?

United are buying random players and shoe-horning them into an the most expensive XI in English history.

No Squad-building or planning. Total mess

Another possible option of course but di marias best season came in midfield for madrid. He would add some much needed pace to our midfield and can easily bring tge ball forward at speed.

Obviously leaves a lack of pace in attack but di maria would join every attack and welbeck is an option off the bench for now.

Di Maria good flat-track bully in midfield in La Liga. But had stinkers v Barca and Atletico, subbed every time. Good in CL though

Looks like its been well planned if anything.

3 brand new midfielders. All of which are capable of playing a number of roles very well. On top of that we have also replaced out going defenders with a a left back and a centreback/left back. A youngster has been promoted too.

Weve shipped out some players too and theres a day to go in the window.

Not been too bad all in all. Now to get them all on the pitch and start climbing the table.

di Maria can always go wide from midfield too. He started in the middle on Saturday but popped up on the wing regularly.

The general consensus is the exact opposite of what yoynare saying. Hes often referred to as their big game player.

Yeah but with Rooney and Mata already playing there and a lack of good wide men, isn't it better to play him on the wing? Didn't catch all of your game against Burnley but him and Mata didn't look great together.

As jip said, he will often end up wide anyway. Mata cannslot in when he does. Herrera is also a very good am type player.

    Bigger than Ronaldo?

Big game Maria was subbed at half time v Atletico at home.

Was he the big-game player when he was subbed at home to Barca, outshining Messi'a hat-trick?

Or subbed early in the loss at Nou Camp and draw at the Calderon....

Big part-time player maybe, perfect for part-timers UNited

Real madrid have a hell of a lot of players to keep happy. I will take the views of the madrid fans as well as my own opinion on this one <ok>

Can't expect miracles from di Maria in his first game. Mata was pretty poor, but so were most. A slight improvement, but still a long way to go

The whole point of the extra signings are to give LVG options in games, cover for injuries ( already got several) and cover for suspensions. One minute we are complaining of now cover, then when LVG sorts it out, the wum's claim we are buying with no where to fit the new players into the side.

Touch of sour grapes? We can afford top players, some have to search for the bargain basement players

Looks like a much better side than we have seen so far this season, but your week point is abundantly clear. Jones has not turned into the player it was hoped, and Rojo isn't even a CB. A big signing at CB and you will probably be better than last year, then you just have to replace your aging strikeforce!
