I was thinking a couple of weeks back that if we got in a good winger and a good CB, this would be a very good window. Thought Koeman dismissed a new CB joining?
So....if we get this Winger and TA, would anyone say we've improved on last seasons squad? Not sure about the first XI but have to say squad depth is definitely improved.

Shaw, Lovren, Chambers, Lallana, Lambert, Guly OUT Forster, Bertrand, Gardos, Tadic, Long, Pelle, plus TA and Mane IN People can debate about whether the quality of the first XI has changed, but yeah I don't think it can really be questioned that the squad will have more depth.
Wouldn't be surprised to lose Jay. With all the pulling off going on around here, we can't ignore Jay's infatuation with the evil one.
I read that article as £14m including Townsend. So, what, cash of somewhere between £2m and £8m depending on how much Townsend is valued at. I wouldn't even be the slightest bit interested in £14m cash, let alone £14m made up of cash and Townsend! (And I think we've shown by the fees we've received this season, that we wouldn't be interested in £14m either).

Squad is stronger at CB and out wide. Bit stronger up front. Bit weaker at RB. 11 is weaker up front and at LB. Better goalie.

That would be a bizarre deal. Just today Townsend ****** up for Spurs that lead directly to a Liverpool goal. Plus I'm sure if JRod wanted to leave it would have someway made it's way out to the public so if it ends up the board essentially pushing him out for Townsend would just be stupid.
