Didnt we nearly get Oscar ? Sure i read he was going to sign for us until we missed out on CL due to chelsea winning the final.
One rumour thats doing the Twitter/newspaper rounds that might prove a popular one after today is Townsend to Southampton as part of a Jay Rodriguez deal. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...adline-day-bid-for-jay-rodriguez-9702702.html
Yep, though Chelsea bid too and naturally offered higher wages plus CL football. The same applies to Hazard and Mata if I remember rightly, Marin too (not that he turned out to be a big loss).
Hazard was the classic wage slut playing footsie with whatever PL club looked like they would be playing CL football in 2012-13.
If it means you don't get the mercs, then not getting CL may well have been of some benefit to Spurs.
To go... Fryers (did we reallybuy him to piss fergie off?) Sandro (too injury prone) Kaboul (looks finished as a quality player, passing, marking, tackling and positioning no where as good as it used to be) Holtby (wants first team football which he wont get with us) Townsend (changed my mind about him...if its a choice between him and lennon its aaron all day long fot me) BAE (aint gonna wear the white shirt again so we should let him go to play elswhere)
"Fryers (did we reallybuy him to piss fergie off?)" No. He was a prospect at LB. And if he now isn't, then we paid 3m less than Man Utd got in a tribunal valuation (which is really what p*ssed Fergie off ) .
Holtby to Hamburg looks to be on Fryers to Crystal Palace looks to be on I reckon there'll be a fair few more shifted too.
Yeah apparently the HSV Director has already confirmed Holtby. Without a doubt at least another 3 to follow. With 2 maybe 3 coming in I reckon.
I think our best chance of a VdV signing is going to be from Bayern. Having just signed Alonso they're looking overloaded in midfield, and we may be able to get someone like Shaqiri/Martinez in on loan.
Since leaving the club, Sherwood took credit for scouting Eriksen and gave Ramsey credit for Dier. Whilst this is probably true, Sherwood doesn't seem especially keen to take credit for Fryers, although I'm sure he'll remember signing him if he does well for Palace, or wherever he ends up.
Unfortunately Shaqiri has played in all 4 of Bayern's games so far and is likely happy to stay. Martinez is a bit out of our league and I think he's injured at the moment, which is why he isn't playing.
I'd take that. Rumours this morning that qpr are looking to wrap up a deal for Lennon. If we do sell Townsend and Lennon, we have to use the money to strengthen. We are still lacking that little bit of spark, IMO. Apparently Joe Lewis was at the game yesterday. - Perhaps the defeat may work in our favour today. Fingers crossed.
Fryers is already at Palace's ground. Unfortunately I don't have today booked off work so any updates will have to wait till lunchtime/tonight
Heavy defeat...............check Transfer deadline day................check. THIS. IS...........Tottenham???
Today I could see happening/being heavily mooted (obviously this is all opinion and in no way ITK!): Outs: Sandro going, most likely to Italy permanently or on loan to QPR -doesn't seem to be in Pochettino's plans now and if Stambouli comes in then I think he will be deemed surplus to requirements, and he may well be anyway Holtby going on a season long trip to HSV OR Paulinho going -It'll be one of the two as I think that Pochettino looks as them both being options at no. 10 and I don't think he needs both. I'd be surprised to see them both go unless we sign someone in this area, and I'd be surprised to see Holtby go permanently full stop regardless, unless an offer we can't refuse is made Kaboul rejoining Harry at QPR -Harry likes Kaboul and has always got good performances from him, and they could do with a Prem-level CB. I think of our 5 senior CBs (yes, I am including Dier) Kaboul is the one we are most likely to let go. If we were keen to sell Chiriches then it would have happened weeks ago Townsend off either to Southampton as a part exchange or to QPR for cash -He's a player of potential and I'd be sad in a way to see him go but I'm of the opinion that Pochettino prefers Lennon, due to his willingness to work and follow instructions, and that Townsend could be the one sacrificed due to this because as a young Englishman with potential he is an attractive prospect to most clubs. He'd probably command a higher fee than Lennon too, due to his age and recent high profile Ins: This Stambouli guy Montpellier insisted they'd sold to us the other day -They seemed pretty certain he was coming and he could well be an astute signing, as the fee being bandied around is probably well under what we'd pay for Schneiderlin or receive for Sandro EITHER Rodriguez from Southampton as part of a Townsend sale/swap -Pochettino likes him. Lots. And Southampton seem keen on Townsend. This may wait until January to see how Rodriguez comes back from his injury OR Schneiderlin as part of a similar deal -Far less likely than the Rodriguez deal and I highly doubt we'd get both. But Pochettino does again seem mad keen on him. It'd be a hefty sum though, even with Townsend involved, and Stambouli may be a more cost-effective option I can't see us breaking the bank for a striker like Bony unless we make a pile of cash selling Sandro etc. It wouldn't be very Levy.
