We all know about Fabregas to Barca, but now I'm seeing reports alleging that Nasri looks set for a 20 mill move to manure. What do we think about Nasri? Would we be bothered if he went there? I remember a female poster on the old 606 (Lady Eowyn), who had the serious hots for Nasri.

On a different note, where are manure getting their money from? is it the mythiclal Ronaldo money, which I thought had gone down the bottomless pit, or is it something altogether more serious of a middle eastern nature.........? :emoticon-0108-speec

    Meh. Nasri is no Giggs.

His brother, mum and cat can sleep easy.

I wouldn't be too worried if they signed Nasri to be honest. He has skill, just not sure he'd fit in with the way the club plays.

Major fan of Nasri, would give United at a huge boost........ Can't see him leaving Arsenal though, much like Clichy, they'll probably both end up with slightly better contracts.

Based on what? There is nothing solid to suggest he wanted to leave/wanted a pay rise. Yes there must have been a breakdown in contract talks but I'm sure the agent of the player does the talking then. Things happen in contract talks, I guarantee if Nasri sacked his agent right now he'd sign on the dotted line straight away.

Oh yes there is, Wenger has said he wants more money and everything about it stinks of that. I don't care if its his agent doing all the talking its Nasri who employs his agent not the other way around.

Agents can be manipulative, part of their job. They always look out for number one, doesn't matter what agent you have.

If you don't approve of what the agent is doing then you can tell him not to do it, I am not going to absolve Nasri from blame.

How can I put this tactfully? Lots of footballers enjoy shall we say, a modest intellectual standard.
They may well be the employer in theory, but I believe many of them are swayed by the more devious wiles of their agents.

    In plain terms:

Most footballers tend to have failed in their education and only have the gift of football talent. This means they are easy targets for agents, even the most obvious agent who is trying to squeeze as much money from a player can blind a player from the truth without trying too hard.

As I have already said I am not going to make excuses for him. If I actually met him and discovered that he is braindead then I might change my mind but nothing has made me think that so far.

We're use to making excuses for players, after all, we did had Fernando Torres playing for us at on point.

His situation was a lot less clear cut though, he played terribly and looked disheartened for 18 months before moving to Chelsea where he has played terribly and looked disheartened.

Carry on like that and you'll make a fair few pals on this board.

RVF already has a few because he's one of the more sensible "others" on our board.
Seem to have it in for Nasri a bit though?
I've no idea how bright he is, I just work on the premise that all footballers are a bit slow. Unfair on some, I know, but always expect the worst, it saves disappointment later.

Nasri would be a far better player for you than fat Joe, and he'd probably settle for the same amount of wages.

I'd love him at Spurs, but unfortunately, we're not mug enough to pay silly money to bribe a player to play for us.

My feeling is that he'll go with Fab to Barca.

Oo! Hark at her! You want to watch that handbag of yours, sweetheart, you might take someone's eye out!

Yes, I know you were talking about him going to United, you plum <doh>

That's why I suggested that you move in on him and steal him from under United's noses. You're forever telling us neutrals that you are United's biggest rivals ( <laugh> ), so it ought to give you great pleasure to make a swoop (even if Nasri doesn't want to play for a non-CL club).
