This guy is just so amazing, his style makes our attack so effective and I think the Spurs management dropped the ball big time letting him to. There mistake was surely not focusing their attacking movement around him whereas in both terms as a Swans player both managers have made Siggy THE man who runs the show up front.

With Gylfi given his free reign he looks nothing like the player who was plying his trade in London, I just pray his experience of leaving for pastures new has given him food for thought. I don't for one moment think we can keep this guy for more than three seasons but I hope he tells his next employer (no doubt a really big club) that he expects to be the main link between midfield and attack.

He see's things that I cannot yet I have the advantage of seeing the whole pitch!!!

Spurs didnt want him and I am sure they play a diferent way to us and often he was pushed out wide and didnt show or wasnt given the chance to show how good he is. Their loss is very much our gain. As with a lot of players, when they come here they find their home.

Spurs used him out of position and that was criminal imo.

His strength is that he doesn't need time to pick a pass. He flicks through-balls and passes in less than half a second and that catches defenders unaware. Has done it numerous times this season and I'm so glad we signed him.

Yeah its great how players seem to thrive in our system. I recently saw a interview with Siggy where he said he was glad to be back in Swansea and didnt want to spend any more time in big clubs sitting on the bench, it was quite refreshing to watch a footballer who just wants to play football.

That's the important difference between us and 'the rest'.

We choose the type of players who will hopefully adapt and play well in OUR CLUB's system, even if they don't seem to have had teh opportunity to show their skills for the team they are with because of their position/ system the team plays. Note I said OUR CLUB's system and NOT the managers system. This is also another difference between us and 'other clubs'.

Other clubs try to buy the best players who play well for the clubs they are currently with with scant regard to if this is down to the system / team or player. (Andy Carroll-liverpool, Torres- Chelsea are the highest profile ones that spring to mind)

What's really exciting for me is that I can see Siggy and Tom Carroll being a very good partnership. The passage of play in towards the end where Carroll controlled the move from our area, was superb, and should have led to a Siggy goal....if Gomis had been less selfish. They will cause all sorts of problems with their vision and passing ability. Regards Carroll, I hope we have a buy option at the end of the loan, because I'm sure he will be a hit.

Yes he looked impressive when he came on. Very Allen-esque. But better.

Good post, I think form what he has said Carroll will be looking at a year tot develop before moving on .. BUT, a year is a long time and he would have to establish himself first.

I'm looking forward to a back four and midfield of

Rangel .......... Fernandez .......Williams ........(another) Jazz

    .................................Carroll
    Dyer .............Siggy ........... .Ki ..........Routledge

Just watching Allen v Spurs. Picked up a yellow after Spurs got a breakaway and just dived in the box to win a pen. Come a long way hasn't he? <laugh>

What i have seen so far is siggs being a good partner for everyone, his awareness of where his team mates are is second to none and on top of his passing he can chip in with a few goals himself, he is not a greedy player that goes for glory but a player who passes to a player in a better scoring position. he was made for our type of football and long may he stay injury free as he is the key to our success imo...

Noticed some fine interaction with Carroll too. I know Carroll was on loan but have they trained together?

Fully agree. I think he will be vital and could form a terrific partnership with Carroll (as I've said in another post). A bargain purchase IMO

I admit i was upset that we swapped Davies at the time but i was wrong as i think we had a bargain... You cant beat a goal creator and goal scorer, he is a very talented player and im glad he plays for us..
