We got a win even though we only had 45% of the possession at home, so although a great result we have got to improve in a big way. I believe we will now that the Hock situation has been resolved, but we need to improve fast because we are being left behind and this league is tough. Above us there are 6 teams getting huge parachute payments, as well as Forest & Watford who have ambitious owners, plus Brighton and Derby who went close last season, so that's 10 teams better prepared than us & plenty more points already. However there are also 3 teams with parachute payments in the bottom 3, and I reckon Bolton and Fulham won't be there too long but Blackpool could drop. Our team needs a coach who can work with his charges and get the respect of all. This team cannot get any worse than it has been, and now is the time to improve week after week until we can compete with any club in the league, because we have skillful players who just need a bit of confidence. This squad is a mile better than last seasons and now needs to start showing it. A lot of last seasons losers need to be gone by midnight tomorrow.
Don't agree any of Bolton,Fulham or Blackpool are better prepared. If Fulham don't strenghen big tomorrow think they will be out of it by Jan,and Bolton won't strenthen enough.Think we are well capable of a top 6 finish and am looking forward to what the season brings.
I really think Fulham are going to do a Wolves and get relegated. As for us I think we'll have a better idea where we'll finish when the window closes tomorrow night
We are 3 points off the play offs after 5 games so hardly being left behind. The squad is completely changed and need to settle in. Like Hockaday said we're a work in progress.
Five games played, three goals scored. One of our promising strikers out injured. We need to sign a real striker by tomorrow or there is no way this team gets above mid-table.
Don't agree on that one,the problem has been the midfield not creating chances,if the new guys do that we will score.
agree with chesh. We don't need to be signing a striker, I reckon Sharp has what it takes to get 15 or so this season which I'd be happy with as long as other players contribute reasonably. And who knows how many Antenucci, Doukara and Ajose can score, we also have Smith. Hopefully Adryan, Sloth and Montenegro provide the creativity we've clearly been lacking so that the strikers actually have chances to put away. Then if they are still struggling we should look at that area again.
