Aye apologies to Rackem for the train wreck. Mind you he will probably have missed it with kebab juice in his eyes.

17:27 Celtic manager Ronny Deila insists defender Virgil van Dijk will not be leaving the club before the transfer window closes on Monday night. Van Dijk has been linked with several English Premier League clubs in the past week and did not play in the 1-1 draw with Dundee at Dens Park on Sunday due to family issues. Sorry to bring the thread back on track
Good shout and that seems more than possible ......... I just can't see Fletcher in our current set up and we need Wickham central. Altidore has contributed more than Fletcher this season and I don't see the point of playing him, unless it was a 'shop window' job.
Virgil van Dijk (23) makes the season with Celtic. Monday afternoon were several Premier League clubs in the race to incorporate the defender but the Scottish champions refuses any kind of cooperation. Until late Monday afternoon tried both Southampton and Sunderland de Brabander weeks go. The clubs were willing to lay nearly ten million pounds (more than twelve million euros) for the defender down, but The Celts persisted. Despite the early elimination in the Champions League wanted owner Ian Bankier not let him go. Even Arsenal, the last two days have inquired about the defender, received no reply. Van Dijk himself, who still called Monday for the Dutch, rather let all know not unwilling to face a transfer. He was kept out of the squad for the match against Dundee United. Trainer Ronny Deila was pronounced after the game. " There is no change . We have it here too much. "
Looks like he isn't and Celtic will sell. Seriously he'd be a step up from some of the rank average centre backs we've had. He's athletic, mobile and just the kind of player Poyet would like here. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2014/12/24/7372502/-? Goal has learned that Sunderland and Everton have both made initial moves to land Van Dijk, who is valued at around £8 million - Celtic are pushing for £10m.
I heard Arsenal were after van Dijk, and we've spoken to Ajax about Joel Veltman. Veltman looks class a proper ball playing CB, would need to muscle up to be a CB in the Premier though.

This guy is being hawked around all over the shop at the moment, Sunderland are the main club which keeps getting linked to him though. He does look good though my slight concern would always be judging a playing from the Scottish league. Going back a decade (when the league was still rubbish but slightly less so) we swooped in to sign the France International "Boumsong" from Rangers >.< He was rated pre-celtic though and it does seem that many clubs like the look of him but see him as too much of a gamble at approaching £10m. Must be an upgrade on the CB's either of our clubs have though!
