As for Taylor having a great game!!! Come on! I had a quick zip through some player score sites where Taylor has an average score of less than 6 compared to Dyer 9+. So Siggy was wrong too when he said nearly all the play was down the right? As were several rows of fans, and the manager who took Routledge because he was hardly in the game because he had no one working with him unlike Dyer who had Rangel. As was Montero who, even in the short time he was on, was visibly frustrated at not being given the ball. For the record, my opinion of Routledge is very high, he has been THE consistent winger for two years, but yesterday he wasn't in the game so much because he was kept on the left. Previously he has switched with Dyer ... no wonder (Routledge) he looked miffed at being subbed. As for Feb - give a rest.
Bob, Taylor had a very good game yesterday, between that and not hearing the songs, were you sleeping?
I have to disagree there, I watched Lindegard gou round him at least a few times. I thought Taylor had a better game yesterday, but still for me is the weakest link in our side. His first touch isnt the best and i am a nervous wreck when he is passing across the back. As for januzaj tearing him a new one, yes he did. However, there are wingers who are as good if not better than him still to come, so he better up his game for those. Still there was definately an improvement from him yesterday.
If that was Taylor having a great game, we really are in the dumper. Against ManU Lingard (21 playing his first competitive game for the team) was on the pitch 20 minutes as our central defender made a tackle wide left that crocked him; where was our full back? Up to that it was pretty even. 'Any one would struggle against Januzaj' (United's 4th choice right wing) apart from Tiendalli (our reserve right back) or the Milton Keynes full back. When did Taylor cover for Ash yesterday? He took himself into centre field for a a fair bit and he blacked a couple of times as his position dictates. but, cover Ash? Headline ..." Full back occasionally does his job ... he is fan tas tic" Hang on ... you forgot the 'he hasn't been given a chance to get back to the form he was in prior to his injury' part from the 20 games since last August. Next you'll be claiming Jonjo played himself into contention for an England call up
Quite right - got my Amats, Fernadez, Bartley and Tiendallis all screwed up, hence my surprise at the Spanish instructions / /calls. The Rotherham game was a good indicator of Bartley and Fernandez. Bartley was assured playing in Ash's position in a very solid back 4 and helped Fernandez with calls and directions (in Spanish!!!) throughout the game. Also, Jazz, Montero and Carroll, when he came on, worked well with the centre back. Amat, Bartley, Fernandez and Ash - not a bad bunch.
Looks like our ex manager had a keen eye on another cheap buy to go with the rest of the spanish gems . Fernandez will bully his way in eventually , but it nice to know Amat is finding his feet and will push both Williams and Fernandez to be hungry to keep their spot .if I get a new top , it willhave Chico on it nottage
Amat looks great for a kid of 22 and will really keep the others on their toes, against Chelsea I would still like to see Fernandez partner Ash as I think that would be one of the best defensive pairings in the prem.
Cant agree about taylor but still think we need to look for another Lb.Be honest I havnt seen much of Fernandez so cant comment on him at the mo,competition though is very healthy and one for the future combo of Amat/Fernandez.Amat yesterday looked very settled and gave a commanding performance ,he seems to be getting more of the belief that he deserves to start. ,
