If Dids goes to Leicester it will be gutting but the amount of money mentioned would soften the blow, especially if it was reinvested. If Berra was to go it would be a disaster, he is a great defender, the best in this division (imo) and is also our leading scorer!! I have a horrible feeling that offers will come in for Berra, its just whether we can resist them, I bloody hope so!!
Me too, I would rather see Tommy leave out of the three if we were to sell one. I like Tommy but if I had to choose two out of the three it would be Berra and Chambo to stay.
I think they are our strongest central pairing so if I could choose I would lose Chambers and replace with a RB.......but it's not up to me I know we all wish it was.
That was an obvious answer, why do you think that though? I happen to think that Chambo is just a bit more composed on the ball and punts it forward less, giving us more chance of actually retaining possession and playing out from the back.
Tbh I don't think there is a great deal between any of them but as Smith has been here a long while and overcome some doubters I feel he has a greater affinity with the club so would prefer him to Chambers.
Tommy has come through the yoof system here and whilst is still very rough round the edges is still capable of developing into a very good Centre Back for us.. he is still young (in footballing and centre half terms) It has been a long time since the fans have been able to really get behind a club player and Tommy could well be a stalwart for this club that develops into a leader on the pitch and someone to really rally behind in the stands.. ala Matt Holland
Chambers hates playing RB and is far far better than Tommy " doesn't know how to distribute a ball " Smith at CB. Way better.
Chambers gives his all for the club too though and could also be that player you are describing. Either way, they are all quality CB's at this level and clubs will know that we are skint and will continually come in for our best players knowing full well that we are more likely to sell than to tell them to eff orf.
A tad harsh on Tommy, but I agree that Luke is better with the ball at his feet. Since playing right back he has learned to carry the ball better but agree that he would probably prefer it back in the middle.
