Mousers are complaining about Dier's tackle on Balotelli . Poch needs to shake things up, here. We're getting overrun far too easily. Also, 'Pool are highlighting our perennial problem, which is our lack of attacking threat. I say it again, we have the worst attack in footballing history.
I'd love to see that Lovren touch on the halfway line to stop the ball through to Adebayor in close up. Looked like he used his arm to me at first glance.
Really poor first half. We're lucky not to be further behind and we really haven't got our passing game going for any length of time. Liverpool have looked very good and we've really struggled to deal with most aspects of their game. Some really poor decision making in the final third and no composure in the midfield when closed down, which they've done well.
Good game so far. Nothing controversial. Where the Poool currently are with their pressing in the final third is where Pochettino will want to take the squad. That will take a bit of time obviously.
Lloris has been terrible today - rubbish passing and distribution to go with the fact he should've saved the goal. Rose bad as well, and Adebayor. Lovren best player on the pitch easily - has saved Liverpool a couple of times now.
Jon in Eastleigh: Really can't understand why the media show such bias to Liverpool players. Balotelli has been poor so far! Missed three chances and given the ball away every time he's had it bar two, but still he gets praised. Laughable.# (BBC Football Live texts) Welcome to the world of BBC commentary, my friend!
Our problems are:- Poor decision-making all over the field Dreadful attack - almost zero "striking" Danny Rose at LB
Scoreline is a bit harsh on the balance of play but we only have our own woeful defending to thank for that. I don't know about typical Liverpool goal as the commentators said, it was more typical Spurs defending. Been a bit of a Balotelli ****fest too, I've never seen a striker get so much praise for missing an open goal and 3 good chances in the box. I'd take Kaboul off at half time and bring Chiriches on, it says a lot that we're actually making Liverpool's defence look solid with our own **** defending, Rose has been left to mark Balotelli at least twice ffs. I'd have Kane warming up too, Adebayor's worse than useless in this kind of form, might even be worth putting Townsend on to play off the shoulder as they look vulnerable to a ball over the top.
You look absolutely toothless upfront, and defensively can't handle our pace/pass/movement. Should be 0-3 at least. But you could come out and get an early goal and then I think you'd go on and win
They needed something to replace their beloved Mancs. Chadli shoots straight at Mignolet who batters it away ("fantastic fingertip save") Lloris saves from Sturridge with a full length save and catches it. ("Lloris forced to make a save")
Jamie Redknapp criticising Capoue for not tracking Henderson's run. He didn't track it because the defensive line would've left their man offside, but Kaboul ran about three yards ahead of everyone else, playing him on.
I don't think we've done too badly. Liverpool have looked more organised, more clinical, which I suppose is to be expected at this stage. Main differences have been that we have had chances, but not taken them. And our defence, especially Rose, has not been good enough.
With Rose, this is where we will see if Pochettino is running a meritocracy. Not a great performance, so Davies should get his first PL start next game to force him to sort his game out.
Haha, what?! Your best chances other than the goal were Balotelli's open goal miss and the header he had early on. Adebayor and Chadli had chances just as good as those.
