Must come with the inferiority complex that England's fourth largest city can't even muster a championship side while the likes of Swansea and Stoke comfortably sit in the premier league. Can't really blame him, that's utter failure on Bristol's part. Embarrassing.
Very true. Total shambles on bristols part. You'd think someone would invest some money in a team there.
Moyes comes in and takes over the champions. Fails in every single sense of the word. Lvg takes over a side that finished 7th and has had terrible football drilled into them. Hes clearing out the ****e and making the players look for the forward pass rather than the safe option they used too. Its not immediate and the players are adapting slowly. Theres a lot of **** to correct.
Unfair to put all the **** at Moyes doorstep The players were already under performing in January when the ferguson effect started to fade. Moyes didn't make them pants.
Of course he did. The stupid **** smashed every last drop of confidence out of them. Going to take a while to get it back.
Jordan is a Utd fan - he's been on these boards since not606 started. I think he go's on GC quite a bit
Just by not being Fergie??? Most managers would have struggled. Perhaps an insider keeping all the coaches and the systems intact could have delayed the transitional chaos.... You and most people here have underestimated the problems with fergie leaving.
I think confidence is the key. Just over 14 months ago, this squad won the prem with ease. Unfair to put all the blame on Moyes, but as the season dragged on, the confidence drained. Is the age old cliche, but we need a win. Be it by a fluke, or an own goal, a win will create confidence. simple as that
No by being moyes. Did you happen to miss every word he said. Calling the players poor, how did this lot win the oeague, not good enough. The same dour crap week in week out. No wonder the players forced him out. Compared us with everton. Was saying we hope to be at citys level. We aspire to be liverpool. **** off, absolute ****ing cretin he was. Disgraceful manager of Manchester United.
I've been saying from the start of the season that his 352 system is dumb and stupid. How many teams have actually achieved anything of note with that system in the modern era? I don't recall any side winning anything in European football, Spanish football, English football or even German football with that daft system. The system isn't actually more attacking as it shackles down the wide men with defensive duties, so it means most of our attacks are going through the middle, so all the opposition has to do is pack the middle of the park and they can sit there all day defending against us. Atleast with a 442 or a 433 we would have proper wide men who don't have to defend, and then we'd have full backs behind them getting forward offering extra support. This would then open things up and give the likes of Rooney, RVP and Mata more space to operate in. Because at the moment there just being suffocated by the opposition defenders as they have no room to express themselves
Not quite true. He said we aspire to play like City and that Liverpool were favourites when we played them at home. Which is bad enough of course.
I heard all the words he said. These were the words of a manager who had never won anything big. The biggest error was in fact fergie's in choosing him. He must have underestimated his own role and his own value if he thought that Moyes could replace him. Did it not occur to him that the perception of players who won loads playing for a manager who had won nothing could be a problem? Anyway the squad is being revamped and LVG will need time to get things moving.
